SBL Press Release
1. From Sunday, March 13 2005, SBL will be the new operator of Service 106. On the same day, the service will be extended from Marina Centre to Serangoon Interchange via Beach Road, Kallang Road, Sims Avenue, Aljunied Road, MacPherson Road and Upper Serangoon Road. This will fix the lost Serangoon/Bukit Batok link that was lost when Service 106 was amended. At the same time, it will end direct duplication of Service 77. Commuters to Marina Centre can still take Service 77 or 111.
2. Service 20 will be amended to serve MacPherson Estate and Kallang Bahru before proceeding towards Marina Centre Terminal/Pasir Ris Interchange. This will help restore the sectors lost when Service 61 was amended. From Ubi Avenue 2, it will head towards Circuit Road, Aljunied Road, Geylang Bahru, Kallang Bahru, Lavender Street and North Bridge Road before proceeding on its original route to Marina Centre Terminal.
3. SBL's Main HQ at Toh Guan East ended construction yesterday. Offical opening will take place on 14 March 2005. On that day, free rides on Service 150, which operates from Jurong East Interchange to Lorong 1 Geylang Terminal, will be given to everyone. SBL has other bus depots at Tampines and Admiralty Road West. The Toh Guan depot will be the biggest and have the biggest capacity.
4. With the closure of the stretch of Somerset Road (between Orchard Link & Grange Road), Services 68, 106 and 150 will call at the shifted bus stop along Grange Road. Other operating details remain unchanged. -
Changes to Orchard Rd svs
Those using Orchard Link will be shifed to Grange Rd
Those using Orchard Turn will not be affected, buses will use Grange Rd, the new slip road, Orchard Link bef proceeding to Orchard Turn. -

Toa Payoh - Ang Mo Kio (loop)
Service 71 is a psuedo-feeder service operating the routes of Services 231 and 261. It will also bring both Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio residents to Bishan town centre.
Route: Toa Payoh Lorong 1, Toa Payoh Lorong 6, Braddell Road, Bishan Road, Bishan Streets 11, 14 and 13, Bishan Road, (Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1), Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 and loop at Ang Mo Kio Interchange.
This service will call at Bishan Interchange in the direction towards Toa Payoh.

1. Good news for Ang Mo Kio residents! Starting on 20 March 2005, SBL will be operating on a new bus service, 137, between Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Batok. This service will give Ang Mo Kio residents with a link to Holland Village, Jurong East and Bukit Batok.
2. On the same day. Express Service 506 will be operated by SBL, renumbered as Service 126, and will be amended to operate between Jurong East and St. Michael's only. Passengers to Bedok can still take Services 66 or 197. Plans for a Fast Forward service between Jurong East and Bedok is still under study.

Bus services in the Boon Lay, Bukit Batok and Jurong East areas will receive a little shake up. SBL is now the operator of bus services in these 3 areas. Jurong Industrial services in Boon Lay will remain with their respective operators. Here's a rundown of the bus service changes.
Service 61: Amended to ply Toh Tuck Road instead.
Service 68: Amended to ply Jalan Jurong Kechil instead.
Service 85: New service operating between Sengkang and Boon Lay via Bukit Timah, Toa Payoh and MacPherson.
Service 105: Operator changed to SBL.
Service 106: Assimilated with Feeder 941, to operate via Bukit Batok West Avenues 8 and 6, and Bukit Batok East Avenue 6 before proceeding with its original route to Serangoon.
Service 118: Existing service between Punggol and Tampines/S'pore Expo renumbered to Service 118. (Formerly 85)
Service 137: No change. Services runs between Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Batok via Jurong East.
Service 154: Change of operator to SBL. Extended to Tampines and amended to ply Jurong East/West Avenue 1 and Bukit Batok Central before going on its original route.

New Service 146: Toa Payoh - Clementi (loop)
This service will link Toa Payoh residents to HarbourFront, Pasir Panjang, Kent Ridge and Clementi. It'll also provide means of competition with Service 143.
Amendment to Service 84: Extended to Shenton Way via Old Airport Road, Victoria Street and Shenton Way. Better frequencies on weekdays to meet demands. Also provides Punggol residents access to the city area via bus.
From Marine Parade, Service 84 will be extended via Amber Road, Tanjong Katong Road, Old Airport Road, Mountbatten Road, Kallang Road, Victoria Street, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway, Collyer Quay, Raffles Quay and Shenton Way.
Return via: Anson Road, Robinson Road, Collyer Quay, Victoria Street, Mountbatten Road, Amber and proceeds with its original route to Punggol.
