SBST ordered new buses to replace Mark twos

SBST has replied saying that regarding the reason behind the extension, they "are not allowed to divulge in any competitive information" and that any information will be made via press releases. LTA did not reply.
So, there is nothing much we can do except to wait for an official notice on this. Meanwhile, speculate as u may but do not contact LTA or SBST regarding this anymore. It's an official secret. Thanks. -

Hope the same goes for the Scania N113s. More chances for me to pong them on 33 that way. -
In view of any lifetime extension to 19 years or beyond, then recall some O 305 !! I gladly take these over any Volvo ! In some ways i'll even select the O 305 over the O 405 ! Least these are purpose built citybuses unlike the Volvo B10M (whatever edition) which make more sense as coaches than citybuses ! Also B10M suspension ride comfort among if not the worst among the current lot of (air suspended) buses here, of a standard more suited to transport goods than people !

I'll say it may be O 405 NH, Citaro, Citaro G, all of which are stepless models.
They buy only a few units probably because they not rich enough to buy more !?! [Unlike in oil-rich Saudi Arabia say where they buy real original M-B O 404 coaches by the hundreds & go to Germany for handshake handover ceremony & tour the Mannheim coach plant before collecting the vehicles ! Similar to buying an SL 600 convertible & getting that sort of service]
But i'll prefer to believe that they only buy a few because they are more prone to buy Volvo nowadays since they are the Volvo truck & bus distributor here & just want some comparison & 'competition' in their fleet so as to see how their preferred Volvo would perform in the long run versus the other makes & models. Maybe also to show Volvo that they still use other makes hoping that Volvo might give them better deals when they want to buy Volvo in larger quantities ?!
Also another noteworthy point i'll say is that no matter how good they think their Volvo might be, it's always wise to have some of the other makes in the fleet as well as putting all eggs into 1 basket is not always that wise !
What happens if 1 day Volvo goes into difficulthy say on strike etc. & spare parts supply is disrupted then it's always good to have some other make around to depend on ! When you say 'standard width' i take it to mean 2.5 metres ? while the wider width means 2.55 meters ?

O.500LE has radiator and intercooler modifications to deal with Australian conditions. OC.500LE is the standard width chassis, where as the O.530 is the wider Citaro chassis. You still need to add CNG to the end of the chassis designation. For the others, they are not diesel. 3 have already been built as of 3 weeks ago, 2 painted in SBST livery at the time, and all have CNG pod on the roof. I was informed of this 3 weeks ago. -

i got news from an email the OC500LE (CNG) is in Singapore! still painted in white, it is said to feature in the IOC session next week.
its hotel is said to be at HG depot -

the pioneer of DD's in Singapore is Leyland.
Scania's are not popular cos it's high-maintenance and it's hard to procure spares. -
