  I stay along Kampong Bahru,bus services 61,124,143,166 ply my place.
  
  I walk a bit to Bukit Merah that side got 167,961,147,196,197.

  I'm staying at Bedok, with bus connections to almost every part of Singapore.

  SeranGoon.. Used to have buses connecting to almost the rest of East and West of SIngapore.. but... Damm it on the NorthEast Line..

  i live at toa payoh, as my signature suggests..
  
  and living at this (almost) centre part of singapore meant that i also have quite good connections to every part of the island..
  
  my schools are all northwards.. pri sch toa payoh sec sch bishan jc yishun (obvious which one le).. maybe my army unit also northwards uni ah.. no more north liao, unless i go china/taiwan study..

  Anyway, I come from Clementi. SBST deploys the worst of its fleet here. No trace of CRB around CLE MRT station. The closest is Svc 33 on Dover/CLE Rds. My neighbourhood is served by 7 SBST & 1 SMRT bus routes.

  Stay at Pasir Ris..in front Downtown east...left is park...behind cross bridge oso park...then white sands....then MRT and SBS bus...but i dont need to take bus...walk can liao

  My place damm convenient to go places especially the town area which is a mere 5 minutes away by bus.(all of the bus services at my place go town)
  
  I can't imagine myself staying in some ulu places at extreme ends like CCK,WDLs,Sengkang...
  
  But too bad,no MRT station there.
  
  Overall I think the best place in terms of convenience of going places is around Outram MRT station.
  There got all the MRT Lines(NS,NE,EW)

  I presume your place is near SGH. All bus services you mentioned go past Outram Park, but the NSL does not call there.
  
  By the way, why can't 167 call at NBR terminal? 196 calls there.
