If you all had noticed, I would like to put forward the observation that many SMRT buses now do not have active air fresheners. The distinctive white units have been removed on almost all the buses except the Sentanta DAFs. They may be hidden under the floor to twart vandalism, but I had not smell the very overpowering attack of the air fresheners for at least a few months already, thus I gather that it might be part of the cost-cutting moves. I personally find that the air is easier to breath without the air freshener, which can be very overpowering at times. Also, I understand that the move is costly as its hugely inefficient given that much of it escapes back into the atmosphere anyway through the doors and the air con system itself. -

SBS bus is nothing compared to KL's Metrobus. I've seen bugs crawling on the seats before. they can cling on to you and spread to your furniture.

I been to KL for a week before, and I absolutely agree with IntraKota about KL buses. If fare hijacking by the driver himself for cigarettes were to happen in Singapore, I think people with very low tolerance such as Susan would rip this forum to pieces and maybe torch down LTA and ComfortDelgro headquarters too
The frequency of the buses there are rather random, with services to outlying areas having freq of around 1hr for some. Intrakota is considered to be quite good in KL already, as compared to the services offered by Metrobus and Parkmay Bhd, of which the last one absolutely sux in terms of service. For example, the aircon doesnt work at all, the bus is badly maintained and the interior looks like some typhoon went through them for a few. Their fares are also slightly cheaper than Singapore, between RM0.50 for a triton shuttle to RM2.60 for trunk services. -
