Once again, i am new here, and trying out this new topic. Read from somewhere in here that there's many 'cars siao' in here thus choose this topic cos me myself like cars a lot too.
Seriously, hope to see more pple, including females (hope this subject wun put them off), to be involved in the discussion.
I am trying to find a topic on this 'motoring' but can't. Anyway maybe some of the things we can discuss here is like what car in and what's not, which 1 worth buying, or the car u drive ...... values of them, or any 2nd hand car for sales, anything concerning motoring.

Well...as for me I might get a crappy car to drive and make sure I master all the safe driving skills before I acquire a car of my dream...it seems that Jaguar F-type concept and Aston DB7 is out of the way..I might consider to get a Mazda RX-7..Maybe after 2-3 years...

Rinoa, Mazda RX7??? If you are thinking about buying in Canada, my advice is... don't want la. Cause their engine different from normal cars one. So expensive to repair. The car is also out of production since 1993?? I believe?? So it makes the car old liao. But if you don't mind, well, go ahead
its a real cool car. 
I personally want the BMW M3.. hehe... that is until if Mitsubitshi Lancer Evolution or Nissan Skyline ever comes to Canada, *Wish Wish*.. I like my car with tons of gagets.
For an exmple, computers that tells you how many KM u can still travel, or in dash Map screen. The car also can tell you the temp outside. Wah... shiok !! -

Hi Dakar : Well guess its a fact that nowsaday female divers are driving better and faster cars than many guys ard. i personally saw a woman in her 30s driving a WRX!!! However, u should really see her driving skill (sorry dun mean to criticise female driver), think her speed is less than 80km/h on the expressway, and worst still, her lane chaging skill is the worst of all, many cars have to jam brake just to let her come in, think she's queen of the road liao lar. Errrm....yah think there's a 2 kids behind the back sit.....pity those children.
Rinoa : Hi errmmm....so u currently in Canada is it? So where u got yr license? Been driving in Canada? Got a friend just returned from Winnepeg i think, he say that its much easlier to drive there than in S'pore. And the car there got very hugh engine capacity. Anyway, agree that a cool car is important, heh ........

By the way, what do u pple think of the 2 BMWs 3 series .....the previous model more Chio or the latest? Just curious .........~

Well..I have not got my license yet....so that is why I say I am getting the car 2-3 years later when I can really drive well...I am a car funatic!!Esp sports car!I know most guys might think I am weird cos most gals think that a car is going from point A to point B. But to me a car is an art piece that shows ur personality and so called "status" and taste...
Yes, Canada is a better place to drive and speed too..Canto..U can boast about your 200km/hr speeding record now...!!

singapore, if you drive a WRX, Evo... U only need to use up to 3rd gear... which is pretty pointless
Within first year of licence better obey rules... U beat one traffic light and you are dead
12 points... Licence revoke.

and small engine but rotary engine.. so COE n ROadtax is cheap... maybe can consider nissan 200sx

WEll..if interested in 2nd hand car..u gotta be sure u knoe wht u want and wht to look out for...it's not easy buying a second hand one...u must knoe the way to test a second hand one. Like using third gear to start moving and see wht happen and all these sort of thingy...the most important is the brake. the engine sound and the gear box...
Hmmm..i used to speed with my small car last time until i overhaul the engine( illegal in singapore) the car got burn half way and white smoke comes out...arghhh...can;t forget tht experience.....well still gotta learn hoe to maintain a car..not easy actualyl..i used to wash my car once a week last time..at least gotta spend 2 hrs sia.. buying a car is not diffcult but maintaining it , is not easy...luckily u'll are only talking abt it..when u own one u will knoe hoe difficult it is....
For me i prefer manual car..the pickup is always faster than normal auto gear car....u can also do "trick" wiht your pickup...
i rememeber there was once when i was actally squeeuing inside a traffic jam at 90km/h...i was rushing for my exam tht time..lucky no accident...
Well..no matter wht car u buy..u gotta knoe it real well..the habit and the small things here and there very important..u even got to listen to the sound of the engine to make sure no problems occurs..must be very very sensitive to your car to keep it in top form.
Driving a sport car is not easy..better master it first in normal car coz the pickup is real fast. anyway not everyone can drive a ferrari coz u got to go for some training i think...
Hmm...most important judgement is extremely important..i am very proud to say tht during my 6 years of driving..i don't havea a single accident whther car or bike..hehe..touch wood touch wood...

Just a question...Did anyone knoe why a one litre small car is able to pickup faster than a 1.6litre taxi? any idea?

WEll...a manual one won't be too difficult lah..i prefer manual one... i think i did drive a bmw series 7 b4..my best pal got one of it last time..tht time still don't knoe much abt car...didn't dare to take the car out for a ride...heheh...my bro in law driving a bmw series 5 noe..maybe i can try tht..
hmm... I wonder f i got a chance to sit on a ferrari...my best pal cousin used to own one in singapore..he even have a roll royce in HK..arghhhhhh..so envy of him...lucky he';s my best pal..hhehe -
patie... Maybe the 1 liter car is a small one?? very light, so does not need that much horsepower to acclerate?? And that 1.6 liter taxi is a heavy car....so need more horsepower lah... besides more liters does not mean more power. For an example Honda Prelude, 2.2 liter has 200 horsepower, but the 2.0 S2000 has 240 hp... i think it depends on how the manufactuer makes the engine. F1 cars are something like 2. something liters, but can produce 500+ hp.. wah....

Anyway pple, for those who r driving, care to tell what car you or yr family drive, or drive b4? and maybe can states their advantages and disadvantages so that we all will know more of that particular car, heh... and in case for those thinking of getting the same model, guess it will serve as great reference. -
me appetite not as big as u pple, u know sports car is not practical in sg and so many humps sure spoil the cars suspension..moreover, maintainence cost a bomb here is sg.
me aiming for a BMW 320ii in 3yrs time...
forget to tell u ppl, in sg, once u buy a car, u will recognise at least an immediate 20% depreciation!!!! -

I driving one now...not manual
...auto.....so technically the speed and power are there...just that the pickup is not as fast as the manual version...

ok.....I not exactly a technical-inclined person so the list wouldn't be technical..
Advantages:-
1.The sunroof's great when U speed and the lights from streetlamps shine in at night.
2. Nice Chasis
3. Powerful Engine(vTec)
4. Retractable Side mirrors
Disadvantages:-
1.Chasis too low...Every time parking have to be careful...some carpark curb quite high...can hit the exhaust pipe...

To me, my car that I am driving feels the best to me... maybe cause I am so used to it already. I think the toyotas/Lexus have the best leather seatings.. The hondas have a very nice sound.. the engine.. especially the prelude... over 6000 RPMS.. wahh.. -

Yups...Hondas sound good when the V-tec activates...but due to lousy association of Hondas and ahbengs in Singapore, I (being very insecure about my Bengness) will not drive one here... -

Alex: well BMW are nice car alrite, but think the price of 318 and 320 are quite big.... think if for me, will be contented to drive a 318 ........anyway, which model do u think is more chio? the previous 3 series or the current?
Ah Blur: i think the license dakar mention in here is the car dealer license lar , not the driving 1...... anyway, how old is yr SiR? My friend's dad just sold 1 DEC 96 sir for abt 80k last Dec (so 3 yrs old exactly). Me drive that SiR b4, well auto too, think the power is good enuff ......to me personally, the disadvatages is that the car is too light for such great power.....maybe me not use to driving the car, but once hit over 100 like gonna fly like that, heh ..... but still, it's one of the more reliable cars ard, never heard of much complaint against it.

Think in S'pore, a just nice and not so exaggerating car shall be the : Merz E200, just nice, in term of power, comfort, elegant and size. But however think i will only get 1 when older, if rich, heh ..... as for now, hopefully i can get a 2nd hand car, a coupe (like Honda Prelude, Misutbishi FTO, Fiat coupe etc.....) something like that will do lar, heh....... still young mah~! -

I just turned 29...working now. I've been quite lucky lor...parents sent me overseas when I was 15+ and have lived there for quite some time. The NSX I test drove is quite powerful although I didn't get to open the throttle fully (the salesman was next to me) otherwise I sure try out full throttle all the way one...hehehee
Somehow I find that in Singapore, Mercs are a little too common...when my dad asked me what car to buy for himself, at first I suggested the Lexus IS200 since he liked Lexus...but after looking at the car (didn't even test drive) we felt that it lacked lots of features that were available in my 9-5...so we left...I then suggested to go to SM Motors since it was nearby to look at the S-40 or S-70. Just so happen that at that time, the S-80 was going under promotion and he saw the car and liked it....I expected the price to be above 200K but when I was told it was only 168 incl COE, I jump at the chance and told him to get it...so until now, he still loves that car and hasn't regretted for one minute buying it -
