I wouldnt comment as "provoked". I would say demand an apology for the "mistake" he had done. Its about life at stake... But unfortunately, as a over fifties old man has put life as nothing. He lived his life in a pathetic grief.Originally posted by Wolfwoof^^:Well, he provoked the cabdriver you know.. he could have ignore him, no disrespect to the dead victim.
I ride mostly, and occasionnally drive.Originally posted by hohosaint:Lastly, i would just like to rate these attitude taxi drivers as big ego drivers. Everybody is trying to survive on earth, not just taxi drivers.
I myself too travel daily passing by numerous motorists.Originally posted by mancha:I ride mostly, and occasionnally drive.
I would rate Singapore's riders and drivers as good.
Why?
Because I have passed thousands of them, and thousands of them has pass me by without incident. I do not remember them. They drive/ride carefully beside me, behind me, infront of me, going their way, and I going my way. This happens daily hundreds of time, and I do not pay much attention to them.
However, there are some drivers/ riders who I will remember.
The ones who cut into my path, the ones who tailgates me and the ones who bullies me off my lane. Motorcyclists, on the very Lentor Avenue, have also whizzed pass me, misssing the tip of my handle bar by mere centimeters.
Yes, these things do happen to me too, but the ones that pass me by without incident, far outnumber the ones that I remember for their infringements.
Lets all recall our learning, and endeavour to be good road users. There's no guarantees that there will be no accidents, but driving/riding will be more pleasant for all, especially yourself.
The glaring case death is tragic.
I wonder if the ghost of the 23 year old rider can say its worth it.
See my point.Originally posted by RaTtY81:side track abit...

I find this story more believable....Too bad for the rider. It should teach him real good lesson.Originally posted by mancha:The story goes something like this.
The taxi cut into the motorcyclist path without signalling.
The motorcyclist gunned his bike to catch up with the taxi.
He wanted to glare at the taxi-driver, and force him to apologise.
The taxi driver ignored him.
The motorcyclist pursued the taxi at high speed, with his pillion gf screaming scared.
The motorcycle crashed, the rider died, pillion luckly survived.
How it happened is now being trashed out in the courts.
Pillion says rider has done such thing before, will not give chance to driver who are in the wrong. He will glare at them until they appologise.
Witness, a passenger in the taxi says the taxi driver grinned when the motorcycle crashed.
Taxi driver tries to play down his role by saying first nothing happened, then its not his fault.
Police says there is evidence of a collision between taxi and motorcycle.
Lets wait and see what the judge has to say.
In the meantime, the rider is dead.
Dead permanently.
He could be planning his wedding today if......
4 Years jail term and ban for life from driving.Originally posted by dragg:the taxi driver got life imprisonment?
Ya... Just realise the loophole of Singapore Laws. If you happens (touch wood) kanna those illnesses... Can become a killer behind the wheels. Knock down the person at 200km/h. In court, bring out all sorts of reason and family problem to decrease the penalty. After the jail term, you still have sufficient money enough for retirement liao.... wahaha...Originally posted by dragg:4 years only?
that means if you want to kill someone use the vehicle and not the knife?
well dragg. i doubt his lawyer will advise him to appeal on the sentence... He did it deliberately. And the CJ has given the lowest punishment on his side... If he really does, he can die in Changi liao.Originally posted by dragg:maybe he might appeal and end up with 8 years instead.
