hi all,i am just curious if there is any difference in the specs of the WRX ver V
in s'pore as compared to the ones here in sydney?i know the stupid LTAs and "wat-nots" authority would restrict that beautiful "beast" on ur roads back hm..hate that don't u?

yup pretty much the same....well at least the LTA didn't lay their bloody hands on it
but i heard the Sti is restricted back hm.
anywway the new 22B-Sti:
276KW , 0-100Km/h 4.7 secs!!!
and sad to say top speed 180Km/h (restricted)
went for a drive in my friends 99 model with an additional turbo installed.had to change the whole brakes system cos it would stop as efficiently as b4...using brembo now and a 5in exhaust ,k&n filter and a new set of blow off valve..damn cool...too much attention too with the damn car roaring like a moster pissed off.but the torque,Ahhhhhh..can orgas man!!!!! -
Eh, you talking about Ver 5 STi or just Ver 5 WRX impreza turbo?
The STi in Australia should be about the same as everywhere else like Singapore.
The normal Impreza WRX (non-STi) doesn't make the 216bhp that the WRXs do everywhere else. In Australia, they use really shitty low-grade fuel with low octane levels or something. To accommodate for this shitty fuel, Subaru Australia detuned the standard spec WRX to 160hp. Oh well. Modify only lah. For some reason they didn't detune the STi and definitely not the 22B.
Funny how the 0-100 times are about the same (under 6 seconds) for the 160hp version and the proper 210+hp one.
Your friend got 22B ah? I thought the 5 that they brought into Australia were all deemed to be illegal for street use. Tell him to replace the stupid limiter lah! Can change braking kit etc. change also lah.
I wish I had a WRX... *sigh* oh well, next car lah PLEEEASE....

Figures quoted from Car magazine UK
FYI:1KW(Kilowatt) is about 1.4bhp(brakehorsepower)
It would've been better if the above cars were also tested for 0-400m sprint which gives a more accurate definition of a car's potential. Cornering figures will also be better too. Maybe I'm asking too much, hand the keys over and I'll tell you what I think.
Oh and by the way, the newly redesigned Subaru Impreza range will be out before the end of the year.
