Dear
Jim Bean, the "sliding" effect of a car when taking a bend/corner is called
"Drifting". It is VERY popular in the Japanese racing circles. They have really funny competitions to see who can drift the best. It is so extreme that the drivers would do anything to score. I read in one article that some hold the door open while performing the drift. Japan's
"Drift King" is Keiichi Tsuchiya. By the way, drifting can only be performed on
Rear-Wheel drive performance cars.
Dear
DUMEX, I tried the
"J" turn a few years ago in an automatic car at the SICC car park and I misjudged and smashed my rear number plate into a shrub. hehe. If anyone's going to try "J" turning it is recommend that you do so in a manual car with some sporting ability. Cheers.
