if u have the money pal go for it.....i wanted a mito too but i cant afford it, there are lots of ppl who dislike this bike and will tell u lots of diff stories, but if u have friends who ride mito and u see how the bike performs, u wouldnt regret yr decision......by the way the mito can be derestricted and there are lots of websites abt mito on tuning, derestricting and modification, by the way this bike is ban on south american roads as it is considered a racing bike, just my advise n thinkingOriginally posted by BikeLover:guys...i liked mito because it is uncommon. it is damn cool to own one. i really very eager to buy that bike lei...

Mito 1st hand cost abt $12000, on the road abt $13500. And the top speed is 130-140km/hr, at a damn slow pick up. It uses the new gagiva pipe, which inside is with alot of air chamber blocking the air flow, thus losing damn lots of power. Its high, and heavy. Sitting position will definitely be more uncomfortable *very steep*, and it will cause your back to ache easily. Resale value? Very low. Maintainence? Very high. Spare parts can only be found at Gagiva agents located at "MINARVA" along Balestier Rd. (u can see many Ducati 996 bikes in the showroom) And there's another shop along Tanjong Katong road, near the "Bak Kua" shop, they are Mito's agent also. Forgot the shop name. The boss is David.Originally posted by BikeLover:hi, bikelovers. i m allan. I wanna get a cagiva mito. Can u all care to tell me how much is first hand or second hand? If i buy first hand, how much is needed to spend on the maintainence per month? Since it is a first hand, will it have less problems? what models does cagiva have, aprilla got y2k, replica, extrema, so what does cagiva have? Should i buy first hand or second hand? i guessed that second hand got lots of problem. where can i buy a mito, which place is a authorised dealer? i dun wanna get cheated buying a mito. Is mito using a approved arrow pipe? what is its top speed? the most important is how much is its overall maintainence which include oil and 2T. Thank you, guys. i know you all know a lot about bikes.
exactly!Originally posted by owm:Hi there,
Have you tried the Mito? I think the best way to find out whether you will like this bike beyond its looks will be to go down to Minerva Motors and try it for yourself.
Like what TZR said, it is going to cost a lot to purchase it. If it is S$13,000 on the road, you will need to pay a downpayment of 20% which means S$2600 upfront. Interest rate is usually 6% per annum and if you repay in 2 years, then the monthly instalment will be S$460.
Next you will have to consider the maintenance and spare parts cost. Since it is an Italian bike, parts will be expensive. Even if you buy first hand, servicing will not come cheap because of the country of origin. It is analogous to the servicing between a Japanese car and a Continental car.
Also, are you planning to upgrade to class 2A or 2? If so, then there is no point getting this bike unless you are sticking with it for a long time. In my case, I am riding a Yamaha TZM that I bought first hand because I am planning to use it for at least 5 years. I am taking my class 2A and will be taking class 2 when the time comes but am satisfied with a class 2B bike.
However, if you really like the bike, then go for it. All the advice given by me and others is just to make you aware of the cons that owning such a bike might bring. The final choice is still up to you!
