You can put anti-chaffing tapes. They are transparent. Can take the torture.Originally posted by roger:judging by the replies, i guess that it is inevitable for the fairings to have scratches here and there.
does anyone know of a way to protect the fairings?
I dare not take out my fairings .... afraid that once I take out, cannot put back, then have to go back and cry at my motor tech to put it back for me. Yah ... I know you are laffing at me. jha hahahaaOriginally posted by owm:I removed my fairings last week to wash the engine. Took me half an hour to remove it and an even longer time to put it back! Damn troublesome...
Also noticed a lot of gashes and scratches near the bottom of each fairing. Sigh..no choice lah, luckily not noticeable.
I think the best way to avoid getting scratches is to avoid all debris and obstacles on the road, ride slowly over these obstacles when unavoidable and put a thick coat of wax to help minimize damage.

Wanna see singapores dirtiest R1??? i buy until now haben wash yet.....hehhehe muz wash soon laiozOriginally posted by VspecR34:I guess if you want ur bikes to look good, like fairings on the sides....,
U would hav to maintain it n clean them oftenly, otherwise get urself an ordinary or practical bike with no fairing so you dont hav to clean this n that.
Lao-K or RXZ not bad for those who are laZy in cleaning their bike. SP, TZM or any sportbikes with fairings really muz live with maintenance n ta~han clean them.
I myself also Tu~Lan sumtimes, all those dirt n mud stick onto my "Wife's clothings",
Bo bian, either u clean them or avoid those construction-site roads.
Take care
This bring me to question ... if your moto breakdown on Express Way how issit ?Originally posted by TZR:Eh today at woodland going up CTE that expressway entrance got one R1 park there leh, i think breakdown, and its leaning against the road rails... i think someone kick it down... wah the R1 owner see liao sure heart pain sia... hahaha
if there is an exit nearby, i suggest u push it out of the expressway, coz u park it there, u might not know, next moment ur bike can be missing.... my brother's bike used to be stolen from yishun's lentor ave few years ago.... coz his clutch cable snapped.... *sigh*Originally posted by LexZEUS:This bring me to question ... if your moto breakdown on Express Way how issit ?
