DIY spraypaint

hey any1 got experience in spraypaintg their own bike? mi took out my tzr fairing to testing... then now still in e midst of removing all e old paint.. wat shitcolour also haf man.. mayb nex wk then i will spray e whole ting black. but scared do not nice. any1 got tips to share?

A S phoon quote me for $450 all black (including rims), Hock Kim Leong quote me $390 all black ... Very expensive!
U do yours, and if your "experiment" got nice result... I can pay u $200 to respray my bike all black.. u want?

how you strip the colors?
i'm intending to DIY the paint too.
so let us share some tips

at 1st i use an electric buffer to sand off e paint coatings.. but then sibei jialat.. cant get a smooth finish. so mi fren suggested i use paint remover on e fairing. i tried then waited till e paintwork started to crumple n scrap it off. i tink e fairing duno painted over how many 1000 times so alot of coatings.. so now i m still left with some layers. i went down to mi fren's father's factory, so he got all the chapalang stuff.. he even got airbrush! so i tink i will continue to remove e paint then airbrush it black then lacquer myself then put in e sun for a few daes.. if neva crack then i can start my own business liao!
(no prob lexZEUS!) meanwhile mi tzr look like raptor with e half fairing.. haha -

the paint and lacquer cannot be dried under direct sunlight. when you paint also try not to do under sunlight.
i'm going to do all the work in my house. make sure when you're spraying there's no fan blowing at you directly.

Hmmm ... I have to look the result first and not sure will let you spray or not coz this bike is new (FT8xxx), so I am worried if something wrong happened... But see first lah... Btw, do you experienced in assembly/disassembly bike like tanks, rim, etc? You have mechanic tools with u? I tried to open one screw at reaar body with default screw driver (when I buy the NSR) but the screw was spoiled...

hey thanx for ur tip. but i meant that i will make sure e fairing is dry n then leave it in e sun to test out if it can tahan e weather.. if it starts to crack, then i haf to abort mission.. if e paintwork is still ok, then i will proceed with sprayin e tank n headlite fairing..Originally posted by kof-guy:CANNOT LEAVE IT UNDER THE SUN!!

hmm not so soon.
i gonna get a new set of fairings 1st coz my this set really UJL. on the outside it looks very nice, but on the inside.... hai... the cracks will appear on the outside 1 day.
got 1 crack start to appear liao.
seems to get longer and longer everyday, coz last time it was covered by my seat, now it is starting to poke its little head out liao.
