Anyway , kekekekeke , to tell the truth, my parents oso din't know that i took up biking lessons till quite late. By then i told them that i about to finish lessons oreadi( which was true), just collect licence only, don't really intend to ride. Hmmm, the good thing about it was , i din't get scolded, but i was offered to take the family car more often!
Then now i hong kan , my parents din't really know i have a bike yet. But my excuse is all the while they were in Taiwan. Just came back yesterday from airport, wanted to tell mom first, but she was too busy to tok to me.
My bike is parked at hostel lor. I tried to get the tranfer paper to put my hostel address but the counter girl refuses. SO ONE day they will find out.
I have this NTU friend who wants to sell me an Aprilla. He bought bike without parents knowledge oso, now forced to sell it. His idea was: it is better to tell , cos one day when you do kena accident( touch wood) big or small , your parents will be even more hurt if they din't know a thing.
Anyway , my TZR only $1k so won't rugi much.
But i really apologise for being big mouth!

i dun tink when u said dat u were far away at the beach lor....cos quite alot of ppl heard it..and it was supposedly...very loud. And my dad was standing right in front of you..so i supposed it's a hard-to-miss??
ur parents might be easier on u..jus take the fact dat i'm a gal,my dad's a previous biker who got injured in an oil skid,my biker uncle died in an accident head-on,my good fren who's so well-loved by everyone dat even my mum wished he was my bf, died as a pillion onli few months back,...wat do u tink? -

This kind of circumstances, I suggest u to only be a pillion (maybe forever), and if u decided to continue taking 2b license... it's ok .. but promise ur daddy that u won't buy/ride bike in the future... I can feel how hurt is your dad's heart if u still insist...

That's quite sad leh yor story.
BUt i had my fair share. Though none in my family rides a motorbike.
I have an uncle AT THE DRIVING CENTRE itself who discourages me to ride. He rides himself and his brother were involve in accidents.
My surgeon asked me to quit biking , even the anaesthetists all say COE drop already , go get a car lah.
My friends all think i am crazy to ride esp since i oso drive.
But for me lor , i know it is dangerous. But i try to ride defensively and only short distances from NUS to hospitals. Keep to left lane , not too tired , not too rainy .
Personally , i have assisted in taking off pple's legs before. My consultant surgeon learnt that i was riding a bike. He chopped off the bone , then the leg and then stitched up the stump. When he threw the lifeless leg into a bin , he turned ard and look at me: " you still want to ride?"
Sicko man , after that i was like quite demoralised during my pract. Fail oso never mind lah = (. But i guess the passions stays and i love to ride and maintain my bike.
Ting Tian you ming and ride safely, live to ride another day. -

Joel: since u got ur share of the story, u shld noe wat's the thing dat made you go on to continue getting ur license lor. for ur info, even if i saw the amputation, I still wun tink twice abt getting 2B. Like last wk when chris accompanied me for my leg x-ray (suspected bone fracture), he asked me if i still wanna get my license, I told him "After the operation,when my leg is healed, I'll continue" And u know wat? I was onli at subject one then...and I was ready to claim insurance liao. -

Maybe I am oso too old fashioned ... but if I stand as your father oso very hard... he knows how his close relative/friend died. Of course as a father, he will be very restrictful to you... especaially u are woman. Man endure more than woman. If man get scratches here and there, who cares? If women got scratches here and there, I dunno how to say...
But, if u insist (to continue and then buy bike), try to persuade him slowly... Don't rush to complete your 2B and buy bike..
Maybe as time goes, slowly he will changed (just keep persuading - but slowly)...
But if he still dun allow u to go, and u insist... and then he get angry... I have no right to judge. But, as child, u r in wrong position (even though ur reason make senses). He restrict bcoz he care.
About become pillion ... hmmm... boy like to pillion girl .. no need to be paiseh... especially u got so many friends who really care abt u and understand ur condition. ok?

Guess what ? I just told my mum last nite about my bike. She took it in a jovial manner, quite okay lah... My dad overheard in the phone conversation too ( between NUS and home)
Just told me to be careful and jokingly told me not to park the bike into my house. It will uglify the house! Ouch , that hurts , my wife is too ugly to enter my house = )
