I am still in practical 1, i read from this forum that a few bros pass their practical 1
on 1 ocassion. I am wondering how they did it, i was learning my practical 1 and i found out that most student i talk to are all doing it at least four times. is it the requirement are more strict now?. very fustrating when you think you are doing fine and last minute the instructor tell u that u are improving but need to come back for another practical. I saw a gal doing her practical 1 the 8 time but still fail, she decided to quit riding. Si Pei Jia Lut!!!

Sounds really strict. during my time , not that bad , pract 1 for 2b was like at most 2 times. Maybe they are tightening up. Where are you from?

hi there... me happened to be one of those unsteady ones who just can't seem to clear at first attempt. Sub 1 took me 3 attempts and sub 2 took me 4 attempts jus cos of slow speed control. Strict standards or not, it shouldn't be a worry in the first place. The more pains u went thru, the more u'll appreciate ur license. Dun worry too much and create self-inflicked pains though.

Don't lose heart lah. I so hopeless oso can get licence, it really depends how badly u want it lor. Hehe by the time I pass TP, my student booklet halfway thru 3rd page liao
I remeber worst is prac 1, stuck there so long until wanna cry, oso thought of giving up many times, but didnt because I die die oso want to ride one. Surprising, find tt some subs are easier then others, eg. prac 5 ( circuit test ) and prac 7 ( road riding ), heng clear quite easily, maybe my luck veri good that day
Juz go for as many self practice as u can afford ( self prac is much cheaper compare to prac ), chances of passing will be higher. Once u Kai1 Qiao4 liao, u will progress much faster. Don't give up, hor -

I took my pract 1 in Feb and took me 2 times....pract 2 4 times, after that very easy liao, dun worry.
Last time SSDC got a girl took her pract 1 11 times. -
I took practical 1 for 3 times too. At first I also don't understand why I need to go thru it so many times. But come to think of it, the most impt part about safety with bikes is the moving off and slowing down, and you use them most of the time. So just press on for that. It will help you ride safely, the more times you go for it, the more steady you will be with your bike.

Heh heh , i always likened riding as a cross-between driving and cycling. They work on the same principles . The former has clutches but 4 wheels , the latter 2 wheels but no clutches , so if you are good in either of them it helps alot.Originally posted by Rix:Thanks again

I love cycling when young , so when it came to cornering , handling a two-wheel you tend to be more steady.
One practical advice about nervousness is to not want to pass so badly. Sometimes the harder you push yourself , the worse you perform. I realised i passed easily for every pract after i became very unmotivated about getting a licence. ( hehe that was when i helped to amputate a young lad's leg)
So try to ride naturally as in your body and bike flow into one.
You will find that all the reflexes come naturally after a while and you don't consciously have to think about blindspot/clutch in etc. Also during each lesson , think that you don't mind failing , then when you pass , it comes as a very pleasant surprise.
Remember my TP , i was super relaxed , no pressure at all cos i thot i will confirm fail one, then surprisingly , i passed first time. 19 out of 80 pple. -

look at it this way, the stricter ssdc is, the higher your chances of passing TP, right? practice makes perfect. i also quite pek chek, cos of the "failing" and waiting for lessons. take it easy lar... just enjoy the riding and relax, like joel said...

I heard that BBDC is quite relax one leh, took my 2b licence from there. Beri fast can pass and go for tp over there compared to SSDC

Not veri sure about individual trg centres.... but it is veri important that riders get their basics right. Practical 1, 2 and 3 are foundations. But what I noe is that TP test are much more srict than before.
But hey...dun give up.... keep on learning. I once know a TP officer....before he join the police force, he himself took 2B at Trg centre.... oso take pract 1, 5 times....hahaha -

When we passed the 2b , first thing the chief tester says is: We understand how happy you are , cos to pass is really very very difficult. -

RTT one i lent to a counter girl at CDC, who failed her RTT 4 times. I took the notes during the theory lessons plus copied some of the mock qns. I haven't got them back since. And i even gave my Basic theory book and the Riding book to her , free!
But she invited me to her wedding this 30th!

Usually kena them I also fail, but Prac 1 took me 2 times to pass too. So put your chin up. I also from SSDC. I have seen gals take prac 1 and 2 almost 13 times in total! so nothing new. I overheard the instructor telling her, 'wah, so you finally pass on the 8th try, keep it up!'
