Fairings and Chasis Research

Ok this is gonna sound really weird...
I'm doing a research on material technology in the university and of course i picked to research on bikes~ hehe
Me and my kaki doing this project both ride but we got no bloody idea what kind of material the fairing or the frames are made of. If anybody can offer us some links or writings or anything please post it here ya?
Oh yeah...if you plan to tell me the fairing is made of plastic...i already know that lah! i'm looking for something really technical. For example: I know the fairing has a polyurethane paint coating and the Honda VTR 1000 (RC51) has a magnesium-aluminium-titanium alloy swingarm.
