2T Consumption?

Hi all, got a question about 2T consumption by 150cc 2-strokers.
When I got my SP late last year, the 2T-to-petrol ratio was about 1:70 (1 litre of 2T for 70 litres of petrol), which I think is way too low.
Too lazy to dismantle the fairing, I just pour 125cc of 2T into the petrol tank every time I pump gas, making the ratio roughly 1:35.
When I went to the service centre, I asked the mechanic to increase the 2T consumption. He did it reluctantly, saying that if I don't ride at high RPM constantly, higher consumption of 2T will increase carbon deposit on piston head and in exhaust pipe. I understand that, but riding at 1:70 ???
So I need some input from you guys, especially 150cc 2-stroker riders, about your bikes' 2T consumption. I just don't wanna end up replacing my jammed piston. Thanks in advance guys!

thats way too little 1:70?
why not use the normal 2T pump?
its better safer....
if u r not using ur bike as a race bike there is no need for u to leave ur 2T pump empty!!!
premix does not mean is better, it may look pro but definatly not if u had ur piston jam 1 day!
use the 2T pump
in order to use premix ur bike settings must be in accordance to how much 2T u pour in the tank.
depending on how gd the mechanic is, the amount of 2T can be reduce to 1:50
every 1 llitre of pretrol with 20ml of 2T...

Well, I use 2T both from the pump and pre-mix. Since last time the pump only pumped less than 125cc of 2T into the carb for every tank of petrol, I added another 125cc into petrol tank.Originally posted by tOngEh:thats way too little 1:70?

Since the mechanic has adjusted the oil pump, I'll have to measure how much 2T is consumed for every tank of petrol again. If the ratio is right, I'll stop pre-mixing of course. -

SP tank can hold 10.5 litres, including reserve. The 2T container capacity is 1.2 litres. It took me about 8 full tanks of petrol to finish 1 container of 2T.
8 x 10.5 / 1.2 = 70.
So the ratio is roughly around 1:70. -

for me its too lazy to calculate lah..
juz ensure your 2T is enough and not too small can liao.. its better to use 2T pump than premix.. unless u racer..
average 2-3weeks must top up 2T..

There is a lot of white smoke when i ride..is it due to large consumption of 2T?

is just averaging of the amount of 2T consumed per litre of pretrol.wat we wan to know is the amount of 2T per litre that will not jam the piston.
for eg.
at t = x sec where rpm is 3000
pretrol : 2T
1 :60
at t = x+2 sec where rpm is 7000
pretrol : 2T
1 : 35

I can't guarantee I'll be riding at 3000 RPM all the time, nor can I guarantee I'll be riding at 7000 RPM all the time.
So what I need to do is to estimate roughly the right ratio based on my riding style. -
just for your info: i read this on a mechanics reference book on motorcycles in the library.
the increase in friction is double the increase in RPM in the engine.
eg: friction for RPM at 6 will be 2 times the RPM at 3
friction at RPM at 12 is 18 times the RPM at 3!!!
think carefully before u decide to test out your engine potential, did u warm up your engine properly today? is there enough 2t? has there been any signs of trouble?
18 times the friction is like the difference between foolscap paper and sandpaper! think abt it... -

You can't use average.
If you use average purely on premix with out the 2T pump,say goodbye to your engine. -

I feel you shouldn't premix 2T into your fuel tank, unless you wan to experience wat is like to hav your Piston jam at 160km/h, hahaha,
Juz have to open yr 2T intake bigger can liao, the 2T pump will pump in sufficient 2T to lubricate ur tiring Piston.
But I think mine is Over-sufficient liao, kekee....

My phantom while putting 2T is like very difficult leh..the 2T seem not to go in..I have to shake my bike to let the 2T fall down and then pour a bit again..Then do the same cycle over and over again until full..Why cannot go in straight eh?? is it my bike or does it effect all phantom 150??????? pls advice!!!
How do i make it flow naturally??

My gasgas n vespa both uses premix, but the mechs for the 2 bikes say different things.
My vespa mech says better more than less as piston might jamm when not enough 2t but wom't do much harm even if 2t more than enough.
Scram mech says too much 2t will flood the carb,causes the engine to run too lean or too thick(forget liao?)On the long run spoil the carb float, causes the carb to leak...
So i think it really depends on what bike u riding nature of the rider... -
