hi guys.
lately if u got watch any one of the three rtm channels u are bound to come across advert on road safety focusing on taking care of riders by drivers. they show statistics such as 2/3 of fatal bike accidents caused by cars' negligence. cant remember the other stats, but all showing that smaller portion of bike accidents are actually due ti rider.
i been thinking s'pore shd start similar campaign. so far i see they onli launch campaign focusing on riders, such as adding more stuff to riding lessons in school.
granted, riders shd take more care. but i think its realli unfair to go about as if riders are the onli ones at fault. they show defensive riding video for RTT, shd oso show video wat not to do to bikes on road. can oso advertise such stuff like m'sia.
basically i just feel road safety is responsibility of all, just coz bike most number of road accidents not necessarily mean riders are the ones only at fault. i think quite good they add more stuff to riding lessons, but drivers shd play a role too. and if the stats from the m'sian adverts are true, then drivers shdn't complain that they must do more becoz of riders' problem, coz they oso share blame and responsibilty. its not fair to penalize onli the riders.
i end off by saying i not anti-driver, i onli feel this road safety stuff is for all not just one party.
