KTM200, worth it?

bike : KTM200
installment : $266 x 2yrs
millage : 11000km
the bike is a FS plate. the owner paid 15K for it. he said i can just take over and pay the rest of installment, road tax, insurance. since i just passed 3 weeks back, i don't noe anything about bike. i thought i just ride ard for 1yr+ then sell or wat and get 2A bike after getting licence. but as far as he tell me, fuel comsumption is very high and also scramble got high maintaince. i also dunno if there's a market for this scramble 2 year later.
wonder if
1) this is a good deal,
2) how much can i sell after 1 year
3) how much can i sell after 2 year and paid fully?
4) what other recommendations, bikes, to get? i understand that i can get a new bike with 6000(266x24). but it's still lppl if i'm going to sell it off 1 or 2 yr later, and get a lower price for the new bike like SP or cbr150. what i'm more concern is the price difference. -
Get a GASGAS200.Definitely more powerful than KTM200. Confirm!!! Comes wif ohlin shocks,micaso(forgot the spelling liao)racing pipe,excel rims,Boysen REED Valves(the whole valve is boyensen not just the reeds)49hp!!! n lots of good stuff in STOCK.Dun have to b afriad of inspection cos all those parts r ORGINAL.The bike is RACE Ready, beat stock KTM anytime/anyday...
Trust me cos i just got one.Got 1 guy selling a late FS plate in catcha.com for only around 7k(shd b neg)His installments also quite low, only 190/mth.A new bike will cost u 12.8k(without the interest for installments) so tt fellow is losing nearly half the price for a 1yr+bike. -
why buy scram buy a rd bike lah since u riding for 1 yr only....
somemore GASGAS are race parts wat if ur race parts are damage u gotta pay more to buy a new set.
and although its race ready but sg rd where got mud and sand
if wat radier winning KTM anytime is only based on pickup why not get a rd bike and mod
remember race bike only belong to their own habitat that is race ground.
although a sharks is dangerous in sea but once it is on land anytime!!!

But since he only planning to ride it for 1yr so y get a 2B sportsbike? Wait until u get 2A than change to a bigger sportsbike lah.No offence to 2B bikers, but do u wan to stick to a 2B sportsbike forever? Whatever u mod on ur bike, still "tio jia" by bigger sportsbike rite? Tts the reason i sell my RS125 to buy the GasGas. For scram, 200cc is good enugh on road or trail. Once the traffic lights goes green, all the SPs,KRR,TZMs,etc.. will smell ur 2t. SG roads, a few lamppost must stop at traffic lights liao so a scram is good enugh.
1 more thing, u can climb those kerbs,grass slopes small stairs to park ur bike. Damm convenient sia!!! -

cos' the scram belongs to my frd, that's y he ask me if i want to take over. i dunno if it's good deal, that's y i post qn to ask u all lao jiao, and he seldom ride it, like he can dun ride it for a few months in a stretch. it's not that i die die want a scram. me only ride the CB125 at SSDC before, i dun noe wat's the difference between road/scram or whatever.
the road bike, SP that nismoS132 suggest sounds good too...will consider. but how much depreciation will it cost if ride for 1 yr+?? -

what he is considering now is the money spent, if he get a 2nd hand SP, nxt time he sell he won't lose much, and most definitely won't have to tiap extra money.
however if he get the KTM or other scramblers, when he sell, he might have to fork out extra money.
money is the main point here.

You might one to consider buying a bike not because you might one to sell it for another year or two..Buy a bike that you think you will like and comfortable wif...One or two years is quite a long time...who knows you might not want to sell your bike even if you got 2A class??
Choose one that is you feel comfortable even if it cost more...

Money wise,any bike sell already also will lose $$$ wat. Rather lose abit more getting a bike tt u like than saving tt little bit whereby sticking to a bike tt u dun really like. -

hehe...anyway, we dun have to dispute the performance of 2b bikes rite??
actually, i quite like scrambler, cos' it's big and the riding posture is more upright. but then if i need to commute to sch, which is both 70km to and fro from my house, i tot sportsbike like SP, NSR better cos' i think they can travel faster. and i dun have to tua the scrambler like siao to achieve that kind of speed. and also, my frd told me the scrambler drink petrol like water. $10 for 100km.....dunno true anot....if like that i drive car better rite??but then sportsbike lower profile, need to arch the back to ride, juz like sio gan some girl 2 head shorter than u like that....
and now i got another problem....i just told my mom tonite that i got my 2b....she damm buay song and don't want me to ride.... -

petrol $7-10 can run 160km
top speed 130-135 km/h ( no chance to test )
cursin speed ard 80 - 90 quite relac pick up also there
so not all scram 10 only run 100 km depends on the setup of the bike also

i drive to sch alreadi >100kmh, and i still take 1/2 hour to reach there..imagine if i stuck at 80-90 cruising....that would take quite some time more....hate staying on road for long time...sianz...

if i were u....id say id be better if u go for a raod bike. several reasons.
1) scrams are good if got mud and sand hills...if u dun go tracking nad got no kaki...then for what.
2) spare parts are expensive...esp if u buy KTM or GasGas...but if ur looking for lower end....WR is the one. but even then....u still have to think agt ur fuel consuption.
3)Dirt bikes somehow to me are a bit dangerous on road. becoz of their tyres...s'pore roads are smooth and flat...not like JB (heh~). if like that...where the tires going to 'makan'?? got sand and water and oil...lagi worse sia.
gud example wud be...u ever seen a scrambler make turning like racer??? no right?
go for a racer....or a roadbike...i dun recommend scrams...faster, road handling better and safer.
