  When geeting a bike, parents are the biggest hurdle you have to overcome..sooner or later your parents will know mah..I will break her heart more if she know for herself than if you told her..
  
  Second is, i guess money...Never got support from parents so have to fork up own money to take lesson liao...Pass already no more money to buy bike..

  wah c u all got so many prob... when i pass car tat time waitin 4 lesson i juz click button enrol bike liao... then go back juz inform dad... sure got nag nag la but end up he oso proud of mi ride lei... buy bike he oso nag nag but end up ask mi buy pillion sit oreadi comfortable tat type.. end up i buy sp... hahahha.... seem i fortunate lor... dad felt big liao responsible for own actions and decision so din really interfere...

  actually the real dilemma to tell them comes in when u pass, tat is when ur buying bike....
  
  tat time when i told them they tell me take lic liao cannot buy bike
  
  actually every thing i do i got tell them but then its not easy coz its onli nags and quarrel
  
  real big one comes when i told mum my bike is downstairs, she dun want to talk to me for wks, budden end of it , she forgot abt it,sorta like give up on me..
  
  gums, i suggest u tell them slowly lot
  dun make it a too serious matter.
  
  i beieve telling them in the 1st place is the best thing coz at least they might have preapred or something, at least they know i go enrol, they wont be suprise when my rtt result come, then i will tell them i go out road, then one day i tell them i pass, then got bike, its kind of like gradual kind of thing
  
  i believe its better than they suddenly saw me on a bike and then find out i took my 2b quietly, its a bigger blow to them lor, but if u do it my way, there be more nags and quarrels everytime
  
  end of it, u must prove to them ur mature enuff to ride and can take care urself on the rd, so gd luck pal, u cant hide thigs however, they will find out someday and trust me tat day, they be more heart broken

  but she still everytime tell me stop riding. say sponsor me learn car. but learn nia~~ who buy car for me? 200sx and rx7 not cheap leh

  As for me, last time my father quite againist me taking bike/riding. Then now he says take licence ok, but dont ride. Wait next time work, really bo pian then ride. Say what the public transport so good nowadays.
  
  But wait till i got licence and money, go but bike liao lor.

  Agree man... thatz what i used to tell my mum when she always say "so dangerous..." I will tell her... when time is up, even walking at void deck also will be killed by a pot of plant from above... or kanna knock by car... all those lame ones lor... then she also lan lan... after i got bike.... she will say... very rich liao hor... dun need allowance liao si bo....
  
  Conclusion... most parents are the same... but how you tell them the news of you getting a bike lic depends on you...

  that time when I wanted to learn bike, I straight away ask my dad liao, whether I can learn or not. then to my surprise, he totally never nag, then say go lor but ask your mum first. then when I got home, I ask my mom. I remember first time I ask she said no. then second time, she say "ok ok go lah but must promise me be careful" she did say those things like "you careful other pple not careful" lah. but in the end got full support from both my parents.
  
  then during the lesson time, whenever I got problems, like no skill cannot pass, my father always there to teach me the skill (p.s. he also biker) and i remember one thing, when I pass and got my license dat day, my mother actually said she 20 years ago wanted to take bike license one, but my grandmother din allow it, now I have fulfilled her dream.

  hmmzzz... lucky my parents never nag at me b4 even when i enrol for 2B ... i got my class 3 1st after i pass my class 3 then ask my brother if he got $$$ to spare me for my bike practicals ...too bad he say dun have so i no choice got to ask from my mother ...
  to my surprise , my mother din even say a thing and pass me $800 straight and tell me this " if u cannot get your license after spending this $800 u got to fork out on your own " <-- translate from hokkien to english
  
  then i happy happy go enrol ...
  after a month of practicals .. the unlucky thing happen hahaha NS ENLISTMENT LETTERthen no choice have to stop for three months then carry on ... but when i was serving my ns , my dad bought a car for me ...
  
  then i tell myself " i got car liao wat for so anxious bout bike "
  then i slowly take 2B
  
  GUESS HOW LONG I TAKE TO PASS MY 2B ???
  it 12 months yes a year
  why i remember it so clearly ... becos if that TP i dun pass i got to renew my membership with BBDC hahaha ...
  
  but heng i got it the 1st time ... went home straight away tell my parent ... but they seems as if nothing happen like that haizzz
  hahaha then buy bike liao ask for my dad signature (cos i put him under owner as i not 21 at that time) he agree and just tell me to take care of the bike and instllments my self ( so bad hor no tell me to becareful on road )
  
  Lastly i would just like everyone here to tell your parents if they does not know bout U getting a bike ... pls ask yourself ... can your parents take it if you meet with a accident on road then she only found out when u are in hospital ... and also what if next time it happen to you yourself ... would you let your children take a bike license ... now you will say yes i would but who know what wwill you think in the future rite

  u try be good ger, pacify your mum, buy her a gift and just when she think what a good daughter she have, break the news to her. at least she is thinking about what a good daughter you are. of course you dun make it so obvious that you are good to her juz because you want to break the news to her lor. anyway as a child you have to be nice and fillial to your parents, not only when you want to break a news very unacceptable to them lor

  My dad kena accident when he rode a bike in his younger days. Ended up the bone in his leg dunno what happened, had to replace with a metal rod. Very bad. So confirmed mum doesn't want me to ride when I grow up.
  
  I wanted to drive, so got my class 3. But ended up, I was in financial difficulty, so car was out of question. Then influenced by colleague; bike is cheap ... haizz ... so I kena physco and got my 2B. Mum doesn't know until I got my own helmet one day while still having bike lesson. Then the nagging starts, but I din have my bike yet.
  
  So, after a month or so, I asked my senior to bring me go buy bike. So he burnt a few Saturdays and brought me around bike shop. Before that he was very worried and warned me several times about bikes.
  
  Then, got my bike ... rode nervously home and quietly got home. Mum din notice. So it went on like dat for a week, until she got suspicious and demanded I bring her go see my bike. She saw already, got very upset, and the daily chanting begun. But also died down very soon. She knew that there's nothing she could do. So ended up telling me to ride carefully every morning when I go to work.
  
  Just one thing to say lah .... skilled or not skilled also like dat ... when the time comes, and the luck runs out, you just have to go, whether you ride, drive or walk. But whatever you do, do remember that your mum and dad spent some 10 or 20 painstaking years of their life watching you grow up to what you are today. If suddenly, they do lose you one day, you can imagine how devastated they will feel. So try very hard to stay alive, even if you do meet with a litle accident ... touch wood ... hee hee
