Hey Guys n Gals,
I will be moving to singapore in august. Born and brought up in india been working abroad for a while. I have normally been riding a car most of my working life. Given that with my salary i will not be the priviledged class to own a car (and i am partly happy about it, and that i like to travel a lot (so i cant merely live on MRT), i have decided to go in for a nice bike. My budget will be around 8000 sgd. Now i need suggestions as i am completely new to superbikes and cruisers. I would prefer comfort over good looks.
My Questions are:
1. What are good sports bike for beginners (No i dont need any modded bikes with nitro n all). Just plain good looking beginners bike?
2. Same Question for the cruiser?
3. What kind of license will i need? I hear there are classes or something.. Sorry but i didnt quite ge it from the pieces i read in various threads.
4. Is it possible to ride from SG to ML and TL??
Thanks Again
1. What are good sports bike for beginners (No i dont need any modded bikes with nitro n all). Just plain good looking beginners bike?
- A beginner doesn't start riding a superbike in SG. A beginner starts off riding a bike with a maximum of 200cc. So far I haven't seen anyone in Singapore turbocharging their bikes. If you want a sportsbike looking model, you can consider the SP or Kips
2. Same Question for the cruiser?
- Small cruiser? the most common one would be the Honda Phantom. There are other models too.
3. What kind of license will i need? I hear there are classes or something.. Sorry but i didnt quite ge it from the pieces i read in various threads.
- Class 2b = up to 200cc, Class 2a = 201 - 400cc, Class 2 = 401cc onwards
Licence will start at 2b, you can only get 2a one year after you've passed. Same goes to the class 2, one year after you've passed 2a.
4. Is it possible to ride from SG to ML and TL??
- Yes, in fact many riders in SG do that. But it is not recommended to go on a 2b bike, though i've seen photos of a phantom at the thai border.
Hi, i just reccommend you to buy a Honda Super 4.
Pros:
- 4 Stroke 400cc
- No need to use 2T
- Ecomonical, best FC bike
- Good to city riding, non fairing
- Top speed can serve you up to 180km/hr stock
- Problem free bike
- Super endurance, ride up to Thailand anytime
Cons:
- NON....
2nd hand Super 4 selling $6k - $8k+
New bikes cost $12k+
Get a one year old used Super 4, shd be best enough. Shd cost u $8k+. Excluding insurance and miscelleneous fees..
