last time my gundam i use brush to paint, if miscue abit then very wasted liao. but then pri sch kid skill oso can't be that good. >_<

some smaller parts i use brush.. cowlings i use spray one..
Snowball: u bought your models at Clementi one?? i'll go take a look.. but is yours 1/12..??
anyway models cannot be finish in one day one.. somemore must wait for the paint to dry..
as 'ah xi' in 'fu man ren jian' say:"man gong chu xi huo"
in simple english means do slowly to get a good finish..
VspecR: i gone to Suntec b4.. the models are really ex.. maybe because of the rent..?? the bike models there are so small.. although with helmet included but still 'bo hua'..
Personally i find that cars are simplier to do.. no offence.. but u had a great collection there..
in general you must be very determine to do it.. sometimes will do until very 'pek chek' one.. for beginners, i suggest buy car models to do first.. because they are much easier.. i started out with Gundams.. then followed by cars.. but now passion is with bikes..
and of coz u need quite a lot of money to do them.. i save up and skip lunch to buy paints.. everytime go JB pump petrol.. haiz..
the paints i had so far is about $200 worth..
not including the brushes, air brush kit, thinners, cement, decal softners etc..
actually i tot to 'chin cai' do one.. but then if i really wanna do it.. why not give my best.. so end up buying all the paints..
i have not regreted doing these.. because its my hobby.. Hobby is what interest you and what you enjoy doing..

zhenzhen i got the blackbird also but i spray in silverleaf colour so it looks like the 2001 blackbird. i oso got the same R1 as u but i spray in the mica blue colour.
unfortunately when i used it for my presentation 2 months ago i broke to the throttle of the R1 while transporting it and cant be glued bac properly... sibeh sad...
for those who wanna buy models, i recommend a few very very good shops
Tamiya DIY:
1) Specialist centre (John little) 3rd floor
2) Miniature Hobby (Bugis 3rd floor)
3) Tamiya Shop (North bridge Road near lavender) this one is damn power... the whole shop is tamiya... mountains of tamiya... highly recommended
4) Any other shop that sells remote control cars and stuff also got sell lor. must find.
Ready made
1) Plaza Sing basement got one shop have very nice ones but they cost a bomb
2) Suntec 2nd floor got one shop beside the lingerie shop specialising in ferrari models and some bike models. -

if u want to have a really good effect , u must buy airbrush , otherwise the brush marks ( if u are using paintbrush) will spoilt the entire bike ... it is a long term investment to buy a airbrush set , the usual one is $300 for the compressor unit alone , $100 for a not bad airbrush .. l got a good lobang , go to Tai Sing (local tamiya distributor) at bugis area ask for the Tamiya SPRAYWORK set , it is only $200 yet it comes with a compressor and airbrush , though it is not a very pro set but it is good enough for beginners ... think about it , it is worth it . Otherwise u have to waste money to buy spray can.

most remote control car shops dun seem to sell this stuff. the tamiya shop u r refering to is tai sing rite? -

but tai sing is really KNN one , they are the main distributor but yet they sell u at the retail price , imagine how cheap is their good which they imported from Tamiya.
but the only good thing is that u can find almost everything there , when u go into the shop l believe u will be shocked as u never see so much tamiya products in a shop before and later u don;t want to go home empty handed. -
