I prefer newbies to try for the new scooters then the old ones I had.
its tougher on newbies of 2b licence on old type of scooters, even though its cheaper.
Get a 2nd hand LX150 from reputed bike shops, you dont want to heart pain too much when you drop your bike.
and being new, you might not know about the nitty gritty parts of a bike until you rode for some years. Unless, you got someone you can trust?
Like Kopi, he should be able to help.
And even as a newbie, and especially a lady rider, you should try to join the Singapore Bikes Forum (SBF) Lady Rider Groups. they are very helpful with new girls riders. Look for finix or raz to guide you around.
And I know there is a group of gals that is riding vespas in the scooters thread on the SBF, maybe you should also intro yourself there and ask for fellow gals to help you out. Just avoid some of the guys, there are buayas everywhere.
There is another inter-related group known as Sheriders Chapter. The ladies rides big bikes and often goes touring to Malaysia & Thailand. You will eventually comes into contact with them after you rode for a while.
