Hello everyone, sorry for being noob, i have no bikes yet. But was thinking of getting either SP or RXZ, i personally like SP more, but will just like to ask u guys out there, i have heard ppl saying that SP needs alot of maintainence and must keep go service, is it true? If i only buy SP and just use it for transport instead of keep chionging that kind? also must keep service and need to spend alot of money? Hope u guys can tell me more about SP and RXZ. THANKS ALOT GUYS!

Sp is a sports bike, of course must maintain in good condition.
If just for normal transport, take the RXZ. -

. 3 Yrs ago, i have been riding my sp for 2 year plus and no problem to mi.. Just go for normal maintainence or service, Engine & spark plug & etc etc.. -
haha ya i know every bike need to maintain and go service. i mean does SP need to spend more compared to other bikes? their parts all mostly quite ex rite. and the servicing are more frequently? correct me if im wrong. thanks !

SP spends more? Dont think so. Costs are roughly the same as any 2b bikes out there.
Now....Aprillia bikes...that is a different costs.

oh isit. cos i heard ppl saying that for SP, they need to go service more often and the petrol consumption is also alot higher compared to other bikes. and i also heard that if SP have some parts spoil. most of the parts are very expensive. whereas i heard RXZ is very very cheap. hmmm. may i know. comparing both RXZ and SP, does SP cost alot alot higher than RXZ? i mean like maintenance wise and fuel consumption, and their parts.Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Its different for individual owners.

it doesnt matter la how big the difference is or are,one thing thats true about them is sp being more expensive than rxz,then the nxt question is,after u know that how willing are u to spend on these bikes?

the fact of the matter is u know SP cost more than rxz,ask ur wallet or bank
then go for either bike that fits
it depends on how u use the bike,if u use rxz damn jialat one everytime overhaul
then expensive la,even u can control the spendings on an SP if u know

any mode of transport, is a financial liability.
they dont appreicate in Value$$$ over time.
You really do have to decide for yourself what is your finances like and how you are going to proportionate them in your budget.
If its going to be value of it saving you time & convenience for riding around town...Then you might want to consider even the Pulsar Buljar (IS my spelling right?)
Or a cheapo vespa you can buy off those ah peks under your block of flats.
Or even the kup kias like Honda Wave & Yamaha Sparks.
Sigh...i've rode bikes. And right now....all I wanted is a nice cheapo Honda Wave R to ride around to work, classes & my Volunteer work.
And when my finances is stable, a Hornet 900cc to get back to motorcycle touring with my old biker frens.
Anyone got any lobang for a 2nd hand wave R that below S$2k? -

35km~40km i heard.

For nsr sp , (STOCK Condition) can hit 280km for full tank + reserve.
When my bike was in stock condition.
The way u ride will also affect the petrol consumption .
and as for maintence ... every 4-5k , change engine oil and spark plug.
every 6 month do a full-service.
And also use good 2t . <2t for me will last for at least 1month> -
SP can hit 35-40km/l ???
No matter how slow I ride, my SP could never hit 30km/l, let alone 35km/l.
I think there's something wrong with my bike, or my riding style
Or most probably the person who told you that was exaggerating
Back to the original question, I owned both RXZ and SP before. Both were in stock condition. My RXZ averaged 28km/l. My SP averaged 21km/l. Some people will claim higher consumption, some people will claim lower consumption. It all depends on their bikes conditions and their riding style.
So from consumption alone, keeping an SP is more expensive. Whether you will feel the pinch or not, it's relative to your spending power. If you're still a student, difference of 20 bucks per month might be significant. If you're already working and earning a comfortable salary, difference of 50 bucks per month might not matter. I personally find maintenance and spare parts costs don't differ that greatly between those two, and both are reliable bikes.
Performance wise, of course SP kicks RXZ's ass. And don't listen to people who say Mr ABC's RXZ can smoke SP after changing this and that. We're talking about RXZ and SP in general, don't use a single bike as benchmark. There's no replacement for displacement.
Appearance wise, this is subjective. But in my eyes SP wins hands down.
Comfort wise, RXZ provides better riding posture for commuting, and it's more pillion-friendly. Riding SP at slow speed is a pain in the neck (and shoulders), literally.Originally posted by R3SsH|n:sp consumption quite high.
