Learning how to Change gear properly?

Eh...don't laugh. i'm a just learner..just wanna know how to change down gear properly? E.g. from gear 5 to gear 3,
1. Close the throttle
2. brake a bit
3. clutch in
4. and then kick down TWO gears immediately
5. then release clutch(slowly or throw?)
6. then Open throttle again?
Or
To change down one gear at a time? e.g.
1. Close the throttle
2. brake a bit clutch in
3. and then kick down ONE gear
4. release clutch(slowly or throw?)
5. open throttle again?
6. CLOSe throttle again
and repeat the procedure again?
Eh don't know... perhaps someone kind enough would be able to give me the correct method cos sometimes when i change... i will feel that the bike is dragging...sometimes nothing wrong. -
it depends how u ride and what skills you learn, but its good to do 1 at a time... do the 2nd method... release your clutch slowly, dun throw... but u seldom need to change from 5th to the 3rd gear...

as a learner it is wise to change a gear at a time ... usually changing two gears at a time will cos your engine to rev till high RPM ... and for a learner it is alway good to release clutch slowly rather then throwing the clutch ... smooth riding pal

for pick up drop 2 gear then release clutch N open throttle at the same time! cos when u release the clutch without opening throttle, it will cause engine brake thus slow down ur speed!

actually when u r lazy or wad
u can actually UPSHIFT without pulling clutch, just close throttle abit and kick up..
but must catch the correct tecnique so tat the gear will engage smoothly so that nothing will be grind or abuse -

halo..although i oso learning but i can give u advice... don't throw the throttle when u using the drving centre bikes.. they tend to jerk a bit... instructers dun like...
but outside i think can release imm...no problem i think..

When shifting down gears, let's say from 5 to 3, in order to prevent the bike from jerking and to engage the lower gear smoothly, before letting out the clutch to engage 3rd gear ( the bike is in neutral ), open the throttle a little to increase the engine rpms to match the bike speed to that of the lower gear, and then smoothly release the clutch.Originally posted by newbieeee:Eh...don't laugh. i'm a just learner..just wanna know how to change down gear properly? I use this method whenever I shift down even if I shift down one gear at a time and it works for me. -

when learning bike must try everything to get the hang of the bike, when can throw clutch when cannot throw, y corner canot clutch in,y corner inside fig8 will wobble
talk how much also no point u will onli learn and remeber when u try it out
i still remember the time when me n my friend push the poor SR125 to the limit in ubi drving centre during outroad at airport rd... i hit 80!!!hahaha -

Hai everyone! i also got a query regarding gears. newbieee asked how to drop down gears, so now i wan to ask about changing up of gears.. u know when sumtimes we like to drag the gear esp gear1 n then change to 2nd gear rite, if we throttle in and out too fast, the engine sound wil be like suddenly one bang very loud n then when u fully release cluthch then can chiong at full potential .. why is it so? issit becos the clutch not fully released then i zua throttle liao? like that wil shiong the bike anot? I feel more powerful n confident when my bike got this type of sound... like wan to knock down someone like that
