Would you stop to help?

there was an accident along the PIE 2 days ago. i believe the accident just happened bcos the jam wasn very serious yet. as any other motorcyclist, i squeezed my way thru, travelling between lane 1 and lane 2, till i came to the accident area and realised the accident happened on the right most lane (lane 1), den i saw a motorcycle, a phantom type cruiser, still lying on the road and 2 vehicles stopped behind it. the rider had no pillion, he was sitting on the road leaning against de right side barrier of the expressway and 2 people were squatting by his side, pressing a towel against his forehead. i could see a bit of blood from a scratch on his face and he looks to be conscious. i suppose the 2 ppl were from the car that might have hit him or something.
i know i should have stopped to help as his bike was still on the ground and was blocking traffic.
but i didnt.
i was rushing for an appointment with frens but i wasn late. and turned out my frens were late by an hour afterwards. the rider didn seemed to be badly hurt either and there were oredi ppl tending to him, but i know i could have helped as i was oredi on the right most lane.
if u were me, would u have stopped to help? i feel quite bad abt it... -
My instincts would prompt me to give a hand. But my experiences showed that my mind took over and I "minded" my own business.
After my own personal crash, 8th May 2002, I have made a promise to myself NOT to hesitate my services. Even to be a witness if possible.

By the way somebody helped me raise my bike as I tried to carry my wife away from the crash site. Really apperciate the kind hand. -
If there are 2 or more people attending to the victim, I would not stop. If only one or less is attending to him, I will stop and render help. Personally, I think too many people around won't get things done any faster, and would probably cause a jam.
But in this case, the accident occured on the right lane. I really dunno how to get there. Slowing and trying to stop on the right most lane is really dangerous. Should I stop on the shoulder and try and get across the expressway ? Sounds even more dangerous .... -
twice i skidded and fall from bike, twice a kind hearted driver stop to help upright my bike and ask if i okay. i truly appreciate their gesture.
in both cases, i needed help onli from one other person, to help upright my bike while i check my own injury. once i bring my bike to side of road, ok liao.
my point is, no need for everyone to come and help, just the right number enuff. if the accidednt happen right in front of u, u nearest person and convenient to help yet bochap ride off, of coz shd feel bad. but if already happened and enuff ppl helping, then ok lor, ride off.
so if i riding and theres a rider in front of me skid and fall, as long as i can safely stop without myself obstructing traffic, i will do so and offer help. in your case, i would have done the same and ride off coz enuff ppl helping.

if i were in your shoes, yes, i'll do what's within my abilities to help. in your case, you were in a rush to be punctual, so don't feel so bad. at least the guy was attended to already.

cos i once saw a ger riding krr skidded n was bleeding from hand n lips quite badly , i was at de bus stop across n if i wanted to go n attend her i needed to cross de over head brige den i tot nvm comfirm got ppl attend to her but wat de fark after 2 mins No one attend so i faster run across n jump over de metal gate diveded n help her n i was de only 1 attending to her , so i help her push her bike , n lucky i got tissue so give her some tissut den after dat she call her mummy , N WOO her mother rush down within 10 mins cos she stay nearby [mother drive bmw] den mother reach liao i see watch NABEi late for work in de end take cab go work , but after dat i tot y singaporean dont wan to give a helping hand are we to conserverte [dont know how to spell] -

But I agree lah, if there's at least two pple attending to the scene, I guess it's alright.
I once skidded along Clementi in the rain, Wa lau! No pple help me ar...
Bike drag me a distance then end up I carry my bike myself, all the cars like waiting for me sia!!~~
Then got one Auntie cross the road and said in Chinese: " Di ar, dont ride moto ar, very dangerous ar. My son want to ride, I also dont let him ride...." and she walked off!!

i tink we should help those involved in accident provided dun obstruct traffic, n if oredi got 2 person helping him, i tink we can jus stop our bike, jus check see whether stil require our helping hand anot...

why dun we make a little unspoken agreement amongst our forum members to stop and help anybody who is involved in an accident... rider or driver or pedestrian, doesn matter, all of us are still humans.
i appeal to all the people who frequent this forum to please stop and help. u never know when your help might save a life, and dat life u saved may one day save your own life or the life of somebody else. of course if there were oredi enough ppl around den it would be better not to get in the way, but if the victim has no help offered watsoever, please offer your assistance instinctively and generously.
u might be late for an appointment, u might lose the trust of whom ever is waiting for u or maybe even lose your job if the appointment was some big business deal... but there is nothing more valuable than a life. -

As a christian, I'll definately help if I don't pose a danger to other pple by stopping by. You never know... This person might need more help other than the 2 guys who stopped by. A good samaritan will accompany the victim to the hospital, then pay for his bills and help him contact his family and tend to all the immediate needs (at least) before leaving. Then go back and settle your work. I'm sure God will help your boss or friends to understand. Put yourself in the casualty's shoes. if you were to end up like that, and someone do all these for you, will you feel touched?
