i ride SP before, i feel that there's more power in SP than Aprilia..
but when u compare Aprilia and SP.. you must take note that Aprilia is 125cc and comes with a milo, also it is heavier... but SP is 150cc and comes with a stomach and muffler pipe.. and SP is lighter..
that will make Aprilia at a little disadvantage... therefore if a kui toh Aprilia compare to a original SP, Aprilia sure win.. <<--(proven)
if a fully modded Aprilia and SP, Aprilia sure win...
*FYI*
A ORIGINAL SP can win a MODDED SP(proven too), you can have lots of money to mod bike but you also need skills to ride it... -

When accelerating, do you use half clutch to increase RPM fast? My bike is SP. At 3'rd or 4'th gear it seems quite heavy to accelerate, so I pull half clutch, and the power brusted instance one .. can accelerate from 60 to 100 km/h in few seconds. Same wif 5'th gear... half clutch can give incredible power. But I never raced my bike until more than 130km/h ... very windy, seems not stable..
Got a question:
1. Do you feel that your front brake is more powerful than rear brake? How to mod the rear brake to be more powerful. Coz I found that my rear brake got only little effect when reducing speed (on high speed)..
2. What does engine brake mean? Is it to step to low gear (1'st or 2'nd)? Please advice.

to get top speed sometime wat i do is like when im in gear 3, ard 4/5 rpm i drop down to gear 2 to get the most out of gear 2... then i shift to gear 3.. i do that gear 4 n 5 aso... sometimes i do like dat... it seem i can reach top speed faster.. n the front IS more powerful than rear brake... i dunno how to change so that rear brake more powerful.. n engine braking is the time when u close ur throttle (dun pull in clutch) the bike will haf like auto braking.. that is engine braking la... or at least i think it is

actually i feel if u want to half clutuch then its better if u do it in the 1st place, if let go liao then pull in again like abit siong the clutch... also half clutch is supposedly used to pick up the bike and also rev the bike higher during when gear change.. but if u want to use it every now n then then i really pity ur plates, ur housing and ur ceramics..Originally posted by LexZEUS:Hi guys... engine break, ever try close throttle n roll to a stop, feel the rough sound and the chor chor feelin? tat is engine brake, if u want then drop one gear then throw clutch lor, try going at 130 @ 6th geat then drop to gear 1 n then throw clutch, u can actaully FLY!!!!!! haha, dun use la, no gd for engine.. -
Yes, playing with the clutch will help in improving the bike's acceleration. In SPs, the power will kick in at higher RPM. I guess the same also goes for other 2 strokers (TZM, KRR), although they might have broader power range. Try to shift gear at around 7000-8000 RPM. You should get enuff acceleration, and no longer need to play with the clutch.
My problem is a bit different, it's the 1st gear that's troubling me. It feels quite heavy when the bike starts to move, for example after a traffic light. Takes a while to increase the RPM from 1500 to 3500, then it will accelerate normally. Anybody has the same experience?

Just to add on, front brake will always be more powerful than rear brake. It has larger disc (double front discs for big bikes), and sometimes more powerful calipers. But bear in mind that your leg is much more powerful than your hand. So the power implied to the brakes should equal each other. But somehow the rear brake in SP feels just like a drum brake
Try to drop the gear at around 5000-6000 RPM, and release the clutch immediately. The RPM will shoot up, and you'll feel something is holding back the bike. That's engine brake. Gear ratio also plays a part. Dropping from 6 to 5 at 6000 RPM won't give you significant engine brake, but try to drop from 3 to 2 at 6000, and your bike will jerk
Based on my experience, just closing the throttle won't give you enuff engine brake if you're riding a 2-stroker. You still have to drop the gear. For a 4-stroker, closing the throttle will give you some engine brake, and some more when you drop the gear.

BTw i heard arrow pipe cannot use anyhow on any bike one... my frnd said dat these pipes got serial numbers (eg.106****-for extrema)suitable for specific models of bikes...izzit true?

SP run very smooth.. seldom will 'pa pao'.. and no need to open trottle too much can maintain at constant speed...
Aprilia run smooth only at about 7000rpm... which means it cant run on constant... also must depend on your settings... mine is on pick up..
i admit original Aprilia sure smell smoke from SP original..
but a Aprilia with arrow, racing carb, modded reed valves and modded airbox with good settings, sure can with a similar modded SP..

Well i think to find out ... one must try both bike then could find out the different..
I ride an SP and once try it out wif my Aprilla friend ...,SP could easily win if Aprilla hav no Modifications...
but I can say ... Aprilla could be a faster bike ... by comparing 150cc to a 125cc ...
