tubeless tires are just the shell, with no inner tube, the sidewalls of the tubeless shell forms an air-tight seal with the walls of the rims, sealing the air in. the inner layer of the rubber shell is coated with a protective layer that seals around a puncture. these are usually found on cast/sports rims.
pricing difference i dunno, but tubeless tires have the advantage of not losing air pressure suddenly in the case of a puncture. if you hit a nail and your tubeless tire punctures, it will not blow out like a tubed one.. it will just leak air gradually, probably enough for you to ride to the nearest tire shop to get it patched. in my opinion safer. there're tire repair kits for tubeless tires too. heard from a friend it sells cheaply at mustafa centre.
most spoked rims cannot use tubeless, because the points where the spokes join the rim are not air-tight. there are some that can, but mostly too expensive for us to think about.

as for my other question, remember i mention 2 times i skid at low speed while banking? after that my fren, oso rider, suggested that my tire treads worn out, not the treads at the center, coz dat one i can see still ok, but he say the treads at the side of the tyres, the part of the tyres which will be in contact with the surface of the road when u bank. i just wondering how true this is, and if it is, how u tell if its worn out. sports tyres on racers, like rs125's rear tyres, u can see its 'cupped' at the sides precisely for grip when banking, so u just check that portion to see if treads worn out. but ordinary bikes, like my ta150, no 'cup' at the side of the tyres, so i donno how to check if worn out.
i guess if u dont know bout it, mebbe not true. but anyway how often on average ppl change tyres? pls give figures in mileage and time, thanx again.

If u don't mind a second-hand Phantom. U can try the classifieds in Singnet, yahoo, catcha etc.... Phantom bike actually not that good for riding long distance or at fast speed. Also, to turn need a lot of space. some more hard to squeeze between traffic, even at traffic light. maintaining the bike also not easy. to polish, wash and wax etc. polish is the worst part. chrome parts on phantom if kena water will leave stain. some more chrome layer very thin only. cannot always polish. if not no more chrome. consider.

When riding long distance, the position and rider posture not that good. strain on the lower back. hand also tired.

Phantom is very comfortable... trust me... c'mon, Its a chopper. choppers and cruisers are made for comfort.

For ur back, i tink can change the handlebars to longer n more laidback ones, so that can lie back more n relac
For ur hand, i suggest wearing gloves to absorb the vibration caused....

i finding riding long distance okay lohz.. backache or not depends on the rider mahz.. some hunch some don't.. only thing is after long journey, the vibration of the bike causes my leg to be numd.. blood circulation siar.. good for health.. haha..

so far i onli ride b4 SR125 at cdc and now my TA150. i think this qn must be answered by someone who ride b4 both the TA150 and the TA200, then can compare. coz i never notice this trembling or vibration from the phantom that everyone talking bout. of coz can feel vibration lah, but the way ppl say until bad for the back lah, leg numb lah, i ride long distance never notice this leh. anyone ride both bikes b4 can compare and comment?Originally posted by chong chong:think TA200 do tremble abit when travelling for long distance... do TA150 have similar problem??
