dude! relax. i'm also having my class 2B lesson at SSDC. Don't be disheartened. I tell ya, i fell down more than my ten fingers can count and i'm only at lesson 5. The no. of times i fell down in circuit is incredible. It will make you improve alot. No one will laugh at you for falling down, because they don't have the time to. They need to concentrate on the road itself.Originally posted by Sure-Fire:Hi everyone! I recently enrolled for the class 2B course and today happens to be my 1st practical lesson. I was looking forward to this lesson and was feeling scared and excited at the same time.
But I fell down alot during my 1st pract. The bike fell when i was setting it on the main stand, fell when i was pushing it backwards and i fell down when i stopped the bike after it moved forward. I dunno whats wrong.. I can ride a bicycle but when it comes to riding the motorcycle, i feel intimidated and always feel like falling down.
Sigh... Now very disheartened. dunno wanna continue not...
Hey man your response has really made me feel better. Anyway i have not advanced that far yet.. Still at stage 1. Failed another lesson recently. And seeing people advancing to other lessons while i'm stuck at one is really... sigh..Originally posted by dh_hurtz:dude! relax. i'm also having my class 2B lesson at SSDC. Don't be disheartened. Let me relate you a few of my "jia-lat" experience...
Lesson 1 part 2 - I got up my bike from the left hand side, and immediately dropped of the right hand side. HAHA! *I believe you can imagine that yourself*
Lesson 2 - Figure of 8 and Crank Course. This is pratically the hardest for me. In just 1 lesson, I fell like 8 times O.o ? HAHAHA. I cut diagonally through the 8 and rode to the main rode! And that's super dangerous! *Imagine that and you'll laugh* Oh! And don't be dishearten when you go for the slope, because it's ok to be stuck there and stall there many times. You'll get a hang of it. I promise.
I got many more to write but i'm lazy though. Trust me! Continue learning, it's gonna be damn fun. If you have advance very far already, think back on those lessons that taught you different things. You'll laugh when people tell you tey never experienced before. Simple because It's ONE HELL OF AN EXPERIENCE!
Thanks for the tip! I'll try it!Originally posted by technoboy:You can get the momentum by rocking the bike front and back then push the bike down if you find it hard.
When you're used to it already, just 1 push and it'll be down. Don't have to lift up the handle bar. It'll be too strenuous to do it anyway.
u pull back then push it front. sure down.Originally posted by Sure-Fire:Hey man your response has really made me feel better. Anyway i have not advanced that far yet.. Still at stage 1. And sorry for asking so many qns but when lowering bike from main stand, you just push it down or lift the handlebar then push?
as much as i dislike u, but here goes.Originally posted by RvnRooRon84:I had my first practical lesson just now at BBDC and its such an interesting experience!
Just one little problem I seem to have (and the instructor calls it a habit); I seem to be always opening the throttle more then what's required! Thus gives the bigggg engine sound and then I get kanchiung cause the bike suddenly like become faster.
How do I maintain a steady throttle?
And when in gear 1, while throttling, must the clutch always be at half-clutch?
And just now the instructor made us try going up to gear 2 and back down to gear 1 again just to see if we can make it for the next lesson.
I had no problem revving up to gear 2; but during stopping, I always didn't have time to rev back down to gear 1 as the bike stop already!
Oh and one more thing, whenever I tried to brake, I always ended up jerking the bike no matter how slow and gradual (the braking) it may be! Instructor ask me to brake slowly and gradually; but seems that I always tend to squeeze the brake but I thought I was gently easing the brakes.
But nonetheless, I'm so looking forward to 1.02!
