Busa Vs ST Vs Gix/R1 Vs OPC

Hi guys n gals,
Actually i`ve come to a point in life where i`m able to choose with these 4 options cuz finally i`m gonna grad soon..
cant really find a better place to post as SBF all the forums are group biased...
I was really considering all the 4 options: NO FLAME PLZ
Option 1: Hayabusa
Just for once in my life wanted to own the fastest production bike in the whole @ss world while i`m still young. For the looks, style and raw power.
Option 2: STX
It`s a really wonderful bike that haf all i wanted in a bike, reasonable spped and comfort and storage space and not to mention, it`s killer classy looks, very exec looking.
Option 3: GSXR1000/R1
Raw power and the fastest accelration bike in the world, a true sports bike in sense. commands respect from roads and track. But for me really, it`s more for the SEH and looks as i`m not really a competitive person.
Option 4: OPC + keep current bike
Yes, it all boils down to practicallity, IT COVERS ME FROM RAIN! really hated the times when it rains and i`ve to cancel my outing or delay my timing. and not to mention abt the times i was caught halfway in the rain. but biggest con is to pay the most of these few options to get the least use.
To all bikers and nonbikers, hope u all can give me some insights to where i really should be heading for my limited budget. PS. getting a car ( non-OPC ) is comfirm out of the question as i`ve no money for that.Thx for your imput.

if i were u,id consider both hayabusa and gsx/r1
if want speed,busa is the right choice,for looks and style,go for the latter.
IMO,if i buy busa id go travelling up malaysia as well as probably go sepang
once.
for gsx and r1,id use it for transport and track occassionally,those who never
tried to go track on a gsx or r1 before should better off dont buy it at all,waste money waste power -

question is, what do u want the vehicle for?
speed?
transport?
touring?
racing?
what you want will determine what bike to get.
no point getting a busa when you can't store lots of stuff when i go touring
no point getting a r1/gsx1000 when i just want to get from point A to point B.
no point getting a STX when you don't tour. -

wanted it to be slightly faster, sort of like power at demand and maybe for the ocassional tour and also to get to places.
that`s exactly why i`m in such a headache... i`m also considering getting a opc to curb the rain prob... haiz...
i tink that leaves me out of the Gix/R1 as i don tink i`m a track person.. -
For me, I'm a very outlook person. So I'll just go for something which is what is pleasant to my eyes, and of course if I can afford it. Lol.

I`m sure these bikes already passed my looks factor, pricing wise all about the same. kopi, any revies of the fjr u using?? -
if u get either one of these..be sure to ram it like hell once awhile at malaysia..
im so gonna get R1 in 5 years time..lol -
no problems with the FJR.
read that some people experience uncomfortable handlebar vibrations when touring.
i get that feeling when i place my weight on the handlebar
so far if u ride that bike with correct posture, there isn't any problems.
power wise, it has one of the highest bhp for tourers
lighter than a st1300 or stx too.
if i had a choice i'd get a goldwing for touring.
i saw the 2008 hayabusa, its gorgeous
i wanted to get the hayabusa last time, but i like touring.
and when i tour i want storage space.
i skipped the honda st11, st13 because if i take out the box, it looks naked and ugly -
seriously speaking.
the fazer 1000 is to me, a great all-round bike. -

yup, occasionally i`ll be in malaysia to max out my current bike..
initally i tot it was rather dangerous, but now tt i`ve done it, i feel that it`s copable.. or maybe not fast enuff.. hahaha
anyway gd luck for ur R1 plan...

Price wise,it used to be FJR slightly cheaper than STX
but now it`s almost the same price..
occasionally i do tour also, but only been on a genting trip once..
one of my dreams is to go thailand trip like many of the seniors here..
don luff at me, but my current bike also got 3boxes, and i really find them v useful esp i`ve 2 sch bag and 2 lappies and a pillion to carry almost everyday..
Funny thing is... no one ever considered the OPC at all??

get the fazer 1000 fairing version
and put the boxes. it looks nice. -
Agree, the fazer 1 is pretty torque-key, more then enough to bring you up moutains comfortably & it can go w/o the boxes for when you have lessor to carry.
Speed wise, its actually using the engine of a R1....so I hope that satisfy some little vanity of riding a speed bike
Its also a quarter fairing bike, which make it almost naked in the eye of the insurers. Age wise, you are most likely below the age of 30, where a fairing bike, considering your age will cost you a really hefty payment even before you used the biker add in those accessories.
try keeping your choices below 1000cc and you should be able to enjoy the bike well.
Try comparing prices of R1 to Fazer 1, including insurances and let us know what you find can?
personally, I dont have the height, or I would take on fazers too. -

well since so many ppl say FZ1 gd i`ll go and take a relook at the bike..
price wise, i`ll go bike shop ask next mth or so..
i`m currently 25 w 2-3 yrs otr..
my frens say the insur is abt 1 k +/-
naked bike i heard is only 400-500 +/-

seen a few FZ1 w H&B.. quite nice
but really hoping for something w fairing...

fairings are just pieces of moulded plastic, and it can add onto your insurance payment if you buy such a bike with it included on the machine.
which frankly, i find not worthy.....plus, a drop, a scratch and you replace the whole piece of plastic at high cost? I dont see the economics of it.
Its like people, who likes to 'chng' the outside of the car, but it still runs like a slow bus? I believe in internal beauty, not cosmetic
You can always add on fairings to be bike, I've seen naked bike, including super 4, that has added on throttle guard (like scramblers guard that helps fend off the rain, wind and stones.) And some kinda fairings just below the tank, its plastic with grooves which makes the whole bike looks big, bulky, mean & errr.....menancing.
And these wont cost you extra on insurance. -
If you liked bikes and would like to meet different folks with difference experiences of bikes. You are more likely willing to meet those old men bikers at LC foodcourt Katong.
They are usually really old moto siao and still rides nowadays.
You see a mix mesh of big and small bikes there usually on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & saturday nite.
These old men has gold wings, St11, triumph rockets, harleys to cubkia, sonic & fjr to interceptor vfr, r1, r6 scramblers s4 & even sp among themselves, their children, their spouse & mistresses
or girlfriends.
Do drop by and say hi and ask questions...they always welcome young folks that ask them politely and join them for drinks or makan at the table. In return, maybe you can help them with their high tech handphones (which they dont always know how to use.)
And there is young folks there, below the ages of 30 so you might just find yourself in a comfortable group for touring or track with the older folks giving experiences and advise that you might not know you need till you really needed it. -

yup it`s just a piece of plastic, but there`s more physics to the fairing,
it cuts the wind at high speeds and keeps the bike stable wor..
anyway i don really like to put the cowls and half farings onto a naked bike..
no offences but.... reallly not to my liking..
but hengz.. the FZ1 got the fairing version, i heard is still considered naked to insurers..
actually i`ve also read the blog for endlessloop who just changed over from FZ1 to STX... in his blog i heard rather positive comments abt the change...
hehe... that`s why i left out the FZ1 in my initial choices. haha

read a few times le, but dunno where is it exactly, actually i abit shy to go meet them w my v humble bike... cuz i heard tt side all riding big cow and sort of have their own click.. haha... -

like some would prefer a HD or a OCC chopper or valk..
some rather haf bikes like STX, GOLDWING of FJR

Ermmm.....hayabusa is kinda no longer the fastest production bike for like 2 years now.
The fastest now is actually the Kawa ZX14.
I understand there is currently only 2 in Singapore? One was rejected for LTA approval. -

I agree, especially on tourers. Rode a s4 with St11s in Malaysia before and then rode as a pillion on the St11, the speed, rain & wind resistance issue was so different on different bikes.

Yes, but you are changing a bike from a 400cc, there is like 900cc difference to a STX and the weight may make a very big difference, especially since you are just starting to want to tour.

its actually a old school canteen converted into a food court. Along tanjong katong road, leading to the ECP, opposite the Chesterlodge Aprartments.
And the folks dont mind small bikes, big cows park together. if you think you can spare a nite there, let em know and i pm you some numbers that you can call and go make friends. -
