i am sorry if i post in wrong forums.... but i want to ask for the requirements to own a bike in singapore? out of having a licence to ride your bike and the money to do so.... for e.g can foreigners own a bike in singapore?

im not sure whether a foreigner can own a bike in singapore or not..coz i think they would have to convert their license first before they can buy.
it doesnt mean even if they have license they can buy
coz the same rules apply to our neighbouring country and other parts of the world.
if a foreigner can buy..IMO...i think all of singaporean would already buy a bike in jb there..coz theyre more cheaper and they dont have any COE to consider

Yes you are allowed to own bikes in Singapore. Even if you do not own a licence or have converted your licence.
It might be prudent to note that you should try to have the right class of licence for the class of bike that you are intending to buy.
There have been cases of folks who bought a bike, but his converted Singapore licence only allows him a Class 2b. So he has no choice, either to leave the bike at his home or to sell the bike. -

They are just not allowed to ride that bike in Singapore.
What they do is, go over to JB or KL or wherever their bike is, change and ride out that Malaysian bike in Malaysia and Thailand.
Do note, that BIG bikes in Malaysia are not cheap. Thus its usually only the Rich, Famous or Expats that owns and rides big bike in Malaysia.
btw, your opinion is sorely short.
we have riders, who have alternative bikes in Malaysia, from cub kia, to track & touring bikes besides what they owned in Singapore. Maybe you should meet these people instead of only holding fort with people of your same opinions.
