Derestriction

hi guys, i would like to know more about derestriction of pipes.. stomach or mufflers. does opening of stomach improve alot or do i have to open the whole thing.
any bike shops to recommand for such things. -
eh not so sure about dis , but i remember my frend cut his nsr.sp original pipe , his pick up improved

For what i know, destricting the pipe doesn't improve a lot. It improves the pick up and the acceleration. That means when u turn the trottle by a bit the power will come due to the fact the nothing is blocking the exhaust from coming out from the pipe.

its a top end pipe.. so pickup will lose a bit..if change smaller spocket to go wif it will be best.

you should search for websites on 2 stroke engine derestriction, because a 2 stroke engine works as a system. whether just opening the pipe helps or not, depends on what your engine's settings or condition were like before it is done. derestricting the pipe (assuming changing to a properly tuned belly and free end-can) does maximize the power potential of the engine, but you gotta tune it further to get optimal performance...Originally posted by A_l_a_N:hi guys, i would like to know more about derestriction of pipes.. stomach or mufflers. does opening of stomach improve alot or do i have to open the whole thing.

is derestricting the pipe at the stomach considered illegal modification?
my fren said nobody would know cos its not visible wats more the pipe is stil the same as b4.....
anyway, heard about the pros that it improves acceleration genrally, but wat bout the cons of it?
maybe anyone who got cut the stomach b4 can comment on it? thanks.. i was asking for my fren...

other than the aprilia, most restrictions are placed in the form of a spacer at the header portion, or a spacer at the muffler. only heard of the milo tin with restrictor plates at the belly.
if the mech opens up the belly to remove restrictor plates (if there're any to start with), make sure the welding is properly done.
after derestriction, be sure to get the jettings done. the mech should know.

my fren went to do his SP at 70bucks leh, worth it anot? he say do oredi liao, better throttle response n better pick up at high speeds...
but i dunno whether wil affect fuel consumption anot, his sp can only clock 180km per tank...
