Hi guys. I plan to take my motorcycle license at the end of this year and i had been eyeing on one scooter, the Runner. Anyone knows how much does one Runner cost? Is it reliable?
its not bad. lousy storage space compared to the x9 though.
not worth it to get it first hand
talk about first hand..2b bike standard average price would be 5k to 7k on the road
since gilera is italian..expect it to be slightly expensive than japanese brand.
since gilera is auto..consider the cost of repair oso...
anyway just take up ur license first den think about what bike u want..its a long long way to go

Dhen what about Japanese brands like Honda or Yamaha? Do they have automatic scooters like the Runner? I took a manual scooter before and i find the jerking when changing gears a pain in the neck. Its quite uncomfortable to be frank.

its up to u how u ride it.
i don't see what so jerky about a manual bike.
u can try the clutchless bikes from the jap brands.
Yamaha fino!!!!
So cute!
And I beg to differ about getting a 1st hand scooter.
I am the kinda that prefers a 2nd hand gear bike, preferably old cabureutor types.
For anything electronics/auto. First hand is the best.
I've rode a vespa old type and didnt mind the jerking.
I've rode a Burgman scoot...and being 2nd hand is kinda disappointing in the performance section. Electronics are a pain!
Heres a write up from Bikers Inc Nov-Jan 2008 issue.
Sorry no price given
Class 2B - Gilera Runner XR200
The evolution of the Gilera Runner over the years has resulted in a
simple yet beautiful machine that is not hard on the pocket.
The Gilera Runner VXR 200 is nimble, light and fast. Due to its liquid cooled four-stroke engine, it runs
extremely smooth round the corners and on straights as well. Further, due to its compact nature, it is
much easier to go through the morning and evening traffic as compared to other bikes and has the
necessary torque to get the rider out of sticky traffic situations.
The build of this scooter is comparable to its motorcycle cousins and the rigidity is due to the deep
central tunnel which ensures the great handling that the VXR200 has become notable for. The engine's
effectiveness responsiveness creates a feel of eagerness and alertness as well.
The Touring Scooter
The Runner has given touring a whole new edge and is capable of handling distanced travel - some-
thing not traditionally associated with scooters. With its comfortable seat and automatic transmission,
the rider will not get tired easily and can say good bye to butt aches! With ample storage space under
the seat and an optional top box, all the necessities to be carried on a journey can be stored away
easily
At the local level, plastic bags can just as simply stored away in the compartments, making shopping
and running errands a snap. With its great sporting look, fantastic brakes, great fuel efficiency and in-
credible value for money, it is no wonder that it has seduced many motorcyclists to 'convert' to this
scooter.
