Hello... gt a few questions to ask about motor insurance for subrider... is it about the same as buying a new insurance??? or like shared insurance for the main rider and sub rider??? dan i also heard ppl say if the main rider is more experience, the insurance is cheaper????
Not really the same as buying a new insurance as you're just adding your name to the main rider's policy.
Yes, it is shared between the two persons.
Nope, will not be cheaper as the insurance company will use the premium of the less experienced rider. So if you're adding yourself (less experienced) to a main rider, you'll have to top up the additional premium.
Hope it helps.
if you want to add a name after you have already gotten an insurance, u have to pay a fee.
otherwise u can wait till the next renewal, then add the name in for no extra fee.
the insurance will tag to the rider with lower age
thanks for the response... but i still gt a bit confuse... so let's say the main rider pays $300 for insurance... dan a newbie become the subrider and premium for the newbie is $700, so does it means that the main rider pays $300 and newbie pays $400 for the insurance???
Yup I guess that should be the way.
the insurance company don't care who pays how much as long as they get the $700.
your question is actually more on a personal level
yes. the main rider has to fork out $300 a year, but some newbie comes in and pushes it up to $700, then the newbie fork the difference.
if its the newbie's the bike, it'll be $700... paid entirely by the young rider.
o.... thanks... btw the insurance is now around $600+ to $700 right??
no idea.
check with the shop lah, u got so many companies to choose from.
i thin 600-700 is for 3rd party insurance only
