Problem with NSR150SP

There's something wrong with my NSR150. I suspected is my carburetor that caused the problem. Whenever my rpm is before 4500 and after 5000, the bike goes smoothly. What happens between rpm 4500 and 5000 is that my bike will start to shake as if not enough fuel or too much fuel rushing in. So I guess between rpm 4500 and 5000, it's when my valve opens, causing this problem.
I hope you people understand what i meant. I was wondering if any NSR riders faces the same problem. Or whoever knows what the problem, please reply to this topic. -

Initially, I got this problem when I bought the bike, then the motor shop can the something in the carburetor which controls the fuel intake. Of course, carburetor was washed at the same time. But still have the same problem, so the same mechanic said my clutch plate wear off liao. Then change clutch plate. One week later, guess what? Still the same problem. I damn tulan liao. Went to another motor shop, he said shouldn't have changed the fuel controller inside the carburetor and changed it back to the original one which I paid another time to change it back to original part. Waste my $$$. Anyway, until now still have the same problem -

Lastly, i went down to First Motor and asked the mechanic. He said shouldn't have this problem, asked me to leave down my motorbike and he will inspected my bike bit by bit. That includes inspecting the engine, carburetor, valve, etc, until he finds the root of the problem.
I dun know how much it will cost, neither does he. But my guess is, it's not going to be cheap.
Finally, i gave up the idea and I ended having an accident because of this. The reason when the rpm shoots above 5000, the motor will sudden gain power (because the valve open)and there goes my bike. So that day, the same thing happened and a car suddenly turned in my lane and boom.... -

Friends Motor was good at 4 stroke bike, so I didn't blame them for not having my bike fixed. Anyway he mechanic there did a great job with my GSX400 the last time. -

Is it? But my TZM got no problem leh. And the way i see the NSR on the road, seems like only my bike have the problem. Have asked a number of people, no one knows what's the problem, thought I was the only one. Luckily I was not alone...

it's normal la!!!
ALL SP got the same problem...just dun ride at that rpm lor...either stay at 4k rpm at 70kmh or go up to 6k rpm at 100kmh la...
i ride SP more than 2 yrs liao...always had this "problem" n i dun think i rem anyone whose bike dun have the 4.5k-5k "lag" lor... -
yea i tink it's normal lor coz i tink the valve can either open or close and at that rpm the valve will like open close open close thus causing the irregularities....
but funny leh u say ur rpm5k above start to open valve....my 1 is 6krpm then open 1...then is btw 5-6rpm got the "problem"
well i tink 1 way to reduce the hard knocking of the engine is to use a good 2t lor....
then dun rev at that particular rpm lor juz let it smoothly rev up then kick higher gear.....
u muz control lor coz once the valve open got alot of power then dun juz cheong blindly... -
hoizzz anyway since tis topic is problems wif sp i also wana bring up a prb i been having.....when i turn my handle to the right fully and slowly move my bike backwards lah wif engine off.....when reach certain part hor got tis screeching sound frm the wheel sia kns.....last time like dun have then recently keep having lor...then i move front dun have the sound only i move backwards got tis metal screeching sound....anyone got tis prb b4?? or anyone noe how to solve it?

no leh, i dun seem 2 hv the problem u all spoke of...
at dat rpm my bike just vibrates a bit more but does not affect handling...

I also have the same prob but did u all mod ur bikes?I think it's the mod that cos the problem

hi,so glad this room have so many NSR.Im new here oso but willing 2 help with problems coz i oso came here 2 solve my probs.frm wat i noe,my mechanic change a much smaller oil jet(14
.but cannot high ram coz of small oil jet.but knocking will be reduced loh.if not satisfied then change 2 smaller jettings loh,but quite dangerous 2 pistons.best 4 run-in bikes .and remember 2 adjust 2t flow oso. But this is not recomanded coz if dun high ram,wat 4 ride sports bikes.best 2 leave it as it is unless u dun high ram

i tink its becos of the powerband lag, juz like the car turbo engines, they suffer turbo lag, lucky sp got power valve, if not lagi worst. last time my z-kia change pipe the powerband shife to 8-13k, then between 5-7k lag like siao, even i tune untill no pa pao still lag, so guys i tink its aright, dun let it worry u
ps:i got a fren sp put boysen power reeds i tink which will solve the problem -

seems like this is quite a common problem among most SP.
I ride sp too. New, fully original. rode for about 4mths, den got this problem liao. den suddenly ok again. 2-3 days later..problem comes back. for 1mth+. den got one night....i clutch in and blow over 10k rpm(while riding la, not stationary). den next day...the bike is ok! hahaha. tat is about 3 weeks back. few days back, the bike like wanna have tis problem again....but very very mild like tat. haf no idea when the problem will come back again.
whoever has this problem and managed to get it fix, pls advice on where u go to, and tell us what's actually the problem. thanks!
