Hi all aprilia bike riders (past/present)
is it possible for you to share your experience with this bike...??
things such as what you like about it,
how is the maintenance for this bike for yourself, not the general view---
--- ie how much 'YOU' spend on average per month on this bike (servicing, fuel, repairs, etc)
should a new rider get one?? --- (me)
what to look out for especially in buying a 2nd/4th hand aprilia extrema/replica

Also is it true that some older aprilia's (extremas) came fitted with ORIGINAL RS pipes before they implemented the MILO Tin??
meaning those aprilias are ''allowed'' to use the original RS pipes in singapore???
TP cannot FINE? since it was an original fitting before milo was implented?? -

milo is only allowed for aprilia!!!no RS no arrow!
although the early extremas came with the RS pipe but i dun think many old FM extremas are using them.after FM batch all the aprilias came with this fucking milo!!!the aprilias are register with the milo so u must stick to the milo.

me has been riding for 2mths liaoz lor...
and i think that if u wan to ride aprilia, be it 1st/2nd/3rd/4th hand, u mus be prepared for any unexpected incident. Like bike cannot start ar....these kind of things may happen. And also mus have at least ard 500 bucks in ure acc...jus in case something shitty happens and u wanna repair.
Everymth me spend ard 150-170 for my bike lor. including parking, fines, petrol, 2t, mainaince. So u should get the main idea of the amt of $$ u may need to spend -
maintenance wise is the same for all bikes
healthy bike=
once a mth
spark plug 10 bux
gear oil 20 bux
valve=DIY if u know
if not around 10-20 bucks
now on the sensitive part, no offense to all
wif the milo kong, it is confirm a loser bike
coz firstly the milo kong has got 3 restrictor plates blocking the air flow at the end can
one more at the stomach, plus the cone ,
but once u mod liao by removing all the restrictive elements inside the bloody milo
once the valve open its really amazing wif the acceleration, some friends on my bike commented that they almost got thrown backwards
this is becoz of the different setup of the rave valve and the other YPVS,KIPS and RC valves
the other valves system on jap bikes opens according to the rev, but the rave valve opens fully once at a certain RPM
but then no matter wad wif the milo kong, modded or not modded, ur top speed still will lose to all other jap bike,
but i mus say the rave valve on aprilia is bery bery hard to maintain
u must decarbonise the valve every mth or so
and it is bery hard to remove when it is jam becoz the power valve is made of bery bery weak material coz its light
but for japanese bike, the valve u can dun wash for 1-2 yrs also neber mind
friend, i suggest u dun get an aprilia unless ur interest and money is there
if ur the type who give up easiy or wanting to have a cheap to maintain bike, then get a jap bike coz italian parts r bery expensive
and they dun last long as they r meant for tracks and not for road
if given a choice, i think i will get a jap bike becoz i am a poor guy..... -

today saw on aprilia with RS pipe. and guess what? the aprilia is malaysia plate one. first time see malaysia plate aprilia sial.

there are 2 arguements
1)the 1st batch extrema was allow wif the rs pipe
2)the 1st batch extrema got rejected wif the rs pipe coz it failed emission standards, the second batch came in wif milo tin n was accepted
the 1st one is tp tell me, the second one is ideal tell me, so beleive which one?
if i were u, dun po, coz if ur caught fine is 700 bucks
and i will also discourage u frm buying too hard extremas, i feel the minimum u should settle for is FN, try to get FP
extrema n replica using same engine
but powerwise, extrema could be better,
but replica got digital meter -

the thing i like about aprilias and cagivas are their size, sort of like a 2-AB bike, haha, bigger than jap sportbikes and slightly smaller than class 2A bikes

Actually i think maintance costs depends on the rider loh? Rode it for half a yr,only failed me once(battery failure)not like what many others say.Most of them never rode 1 b4 only hear say from others. Maintance cost for me abt $65 per 2000km-2500km(service carb+valve change 4T=sparkplugs).No doubt,parts r more ex than their japs counter-parts but its impossible dat it will spoil so easily dat u will have to replace every few weeks.I've only replaced my brakepump n clutch cable b4 due to wear n tear in my 7 mths riding this bike.Originally posted by clockwise:heh..

Fuel consumption depends on mods done n style of riding. For me, no mods on stockbike=240km/tank Wif mods+arrow pipe=160km/tank. However, i dun think fuel economy would be an issue to 2b bikers.How much can u save? One summon on doub yellow already can let me pump for 2mths.So din bother too much on fuel comsumption.
Conclusion:If u dun mod n just use this bike as transport n lesiure,it won't cost u much. Only drawback i can think of is its low resale value.But if u get a FN/FP/FQ Plate, the depresiation will be insignificant cos the price u r paying 4 is already in its low end. -

yes its bigger, got more feel when cornering
u know i sat on a S4 n i feel it is smaller
henry tat time also say he feel it is fatter than his bike
for the RS pipe part, even me myself also not sure...but as i said, if u got 700 bux to contribute to govt then go ahead lor, its better for the bike also -

RS in normal riding is already on high temp, plus jam 100 plus quite possible
lap meter go track can use mah
most of the time i m in temp/time mode

but can ya explain more on piston jams?? cos my frens aprilia's just kena jam and say muz change the engine block....
how to prevent it from jamming? -
