Track rides at Pasir Gudang

Hi...i'm new to this forum, so would like to start a new topic to invite anyone interested to learn more about themselves and their bikes, to air their views about their latest track sessions or organise any track day activities....
just to inform anyone interested, that in mid-may, i am getting a group of my friends to head up to Pasir Gudang for a relaxed track ride...
anyone interested can just pay attention to this topic for further updates....
As my nick suggests, i am a zx6r rider... but any rider on any bike is welcomed....all you need is the right frame of mind, and proper gear to participate...oh yeah.. and RM35 for weekdays or RM55 for weekends...

like i said, it's going to be mid-may... depends on the track availability and our time schedules... trying out for a weekday track session...
saving the weekend sessions for when my friends and i change our tyres....

Maybe in May go to track for a relaxed ride. Many of my friends have been pushing me to organise a weekday track. (And you are one of them!!!) Sian... must take leave. Dunno why you all like weekdays so much. So empty. Unlike weekends where the thrills are!!
When you wanna change tyres? It has been 1 and 1/2 mths since we changed into our Rennsport RS2. Must change liao... Dead tyres cannot whack one. When you wanna change let me know, we go try the DIABLO or DIABLO CORSA. Change together maybe got discount... Hee...
My new shock absorber is coming back from Sweden before Labour Day. Joe managed to get the Ohlins HQ to replace a new one. Don't SMS me so often... Cutting down on bills. My wife making noise liao. Wanna contact me can email. Unless necessary, call me.

anyway.... a set of race tyres last me only at most 2-3 hard track sessions at PG....
btw MS....told you liaoz.... weekends and weekdays serve different purposes.... weekdays to practice your own stuff... weekdays to practice "race" conditions... especially with the pace that the racers set....
and oh yeah... told you liaoz also... i dun wan diablo....

these tyres are good for people who like tyres similar to the BT010...it's got a neutral feel and corners with the slightest lean...at times, it feels like it wants to corner all on its own...
this does feel weird at times especially on the highways when you are trying to go staright... the tyre profile makes you wanna ride at an angle to the road, cos there is where the tyre performs its best.
the RS2 tyre is super sticky, but not extremely great for everyday road rides cos it doesn't heat as much as it should (as compared to to on the track) so it tends to pick up more crap than a standard road compound tyre.... in wet weather (like what we are having recently), it works surprisingly well for a cut slick, but DUN push or lean too hard into a turn.... the slick edges tend to aquaplane .. i had a nice front end slide across one lane at 40km/h during the rain... reminded me of my mortality....
at the tracks... the tyres inspire you to push your limits in the corner... making you take corners at higher lean angles and higher corner speeds....yet without the fear of losing the front end.... rear tyre slides pretty predicatably when pushed hard....
really good at soaking up bumps along the track.... but tends to want to stand-up when you are on the brakes in the corner.... great flickability through turns...
tyre wear is pretty good...ridden about 2000-3000km (inclusive of 2hours of track) so far... tyre is still good for another hard track day....but i guess the tyre wear would depend on your won riding style...
it's the 2nd race compound tyre i've used and in my opinion, possibly the best tyre so far.... next up for me to try would be the pirelli supercorsa... should be the same as the rennsport... but i wanna know for myself instead of relying too much on other people's info....
if money is no option, why not try the Michellin Pilot Race? read about it in mags..... -

i never tried the 010, but i used the 090 and i like the feel alot, just like you said, it's like it wants to ride at the edge, but the wear was incredibly fast, the centre strip was almost bald after like 2 track days + 3-4 months normal road riding. wet roads were fun
i see alotta bikes on met z4s though. -

i dun really like the MEZ4s unless you are on a sports tourer... MEZ3s are great but when they are worn-out...from my experience...they LET-GO just like that.... which isn't a nice thing if you are in mid-corner to find out that they ARE worn-out
but still great track and road tyres....good mileage
btw... you riding a class 2A bike right? cos i think 090 meant for 400cc bikes... why not use the Pirelli Supercorsa for track.... you won't be disappointed.... -
