Daijiro Kato, the former 250cc World Champion, died in hospital in Japan. Kato passed away on Sunday April 20, in the Yokkaichi Central Hospital. Kato had been in a coma since crashing at the first race of the season in Suzuka.
It is a really sad loss... especially of such an up and coming racer in the motoGp class...
the loss is also felt by his young wife and his two children...He was only 26 years old...still a long way to go in his career... what sucks was that just barely a week before he died, there were reports that he was showing improvements in his condition....
but i guess, being a racer, means having to be aware of such risks and be prepared for whatever happens.... this is just one unlucky consequence of racing....
this could serve as a wake up call to all those who want to enter racing as a career or racing as a hobby.... if you are not prepared for the consequences, don't race....
