can further elaborate why? Cos i m riding one....Originally posted by skeujin:dnt go anywhr near korean or taiwan bikes. u will regret it till the day its scrapped...
sori to say n apologies if i offend.Originally posted by nights:can further elaborate why? Cos i m riding one....
tts the thing im toking about.... its somewat ike the case of the skipper n sefera. these bikes arnt built for speed yet riders blast thm around town thus eventually the eingines will giv up. same case with all bikes. ride within its means n it shd hopefully get u thru the day n last u a lifetime.Originally posted by nights:Dun worry, i m not offended cos i also heard of poor quality and reputation of my korea bike Daelim..resale value is low yup agree....but i m more concern with the engine....so far haven encounter any real big problem except for the speed maybe...
i cnt really advise u cause it depends on the grade of oil u use, the brand of oil & the amount of stress u put on the engine.Originally posted by nights:cheez...thanks....but how freq would u recommend for maintenance and also the engine oil too?
thanks for the info but do u know roughly the price for all 3 engine oils u mentioned? ThxOriginally posted by skeujin:i cnt really advise u cause it depends on the grade of oil u use, the brand of oil & the amount of stress u put on the engine.
a rough guage by myslf under normal bike usage wld be...
mineral oil = 1 - 2000km
semi syn = 3 - 4000km
fully syn = 5 - 8000km
spark plugs = at least 5000km (4 stroke), remove n chk on wear n remove deposites/tune.
but thn as i said this is to my personal specs. the best person to advise u wld be yr mechanic.
i correct your phase.. daelim came out much earlier than hyosungOriginally posted by skeujin:sori to say n apologies if i offend.
korean n taiwan bikes hav a reputation for not being roadworthy machines.
their engines r cheap imitations of jap bikes. eg the hyosung took the gn125 engine, the daelim took the engine of another jap bike but i cnt remember wat rite now. the copy the engine design n replac it w cheaper materials tt dnt last. thus to make the bike lighter so as to compensate the larger build tt they encased it w, n more affordable to their local market. il leaks n overheating r jus the tip of the problems.
perhaps they wer not built to ride like how they r treated in sg, whr speeds of 80km n excess r required n the weathr conditions also do not comply to their specs. but their reputation in sg is in the dumps rite now. u can chk out the resale value of yr bike n c for yrslf.
Hi hi! i m also riding a Daystar 125 too! Must say this is a rare bike on road unlike phatom which is over populated like Nokia HP So have u ever encounter any real overheating issue? Reading from the manual, overheating is due to the excess rpm on gear, thus if we applied appropiate rpm on the different lower gears, overheating won't arise. I believe this is a common issue on all branded cruiser bike and towards the biker themselves who like to treat cruiser like racing bike blasting all the way.Originally posted by Actuators:i correct your phase.. daelim came out much earlier than hyosung
im riding Daystar125.. so far no problem...
hmm.. overheat>? casket leaking? they are all not a problem to me
at least when it come to phantom..i know it wont rust so easily when parts is concern.I saw my frens's phantom 200 's screws and the fork all rusty and not only that.. count how many phantom there are in Spore or rather in a carpark, too many opportunity to "loan" parts from other phantom's rider. Phantom come out from Thailand will be much better than Korea and Taiwan??
did i ever mention about which came 1st?Originally posted by Actuators:i correct your phase.. daelim came out much earlier than hyosung

in ans 2 yr 2nd question... if u ever intend to upgrade yr license n bike soon (1yr i guess) dnt buy a new bike. ull lose $ in the resale value n the cost of a new 2b bike can pay for a 2a bike....mite as wel buy a cheaper 2nd hand bike n save $ for yr 2a bike...Originally posted by H-Profile:guys...wat are the rough prices for a brand new Phantom or Daelim Evolution VT125 bike? how abt 2nd hand prices?
Hm...another question.if i'm a just a beginner,should i buy a brand new or a 2nd hand bike? i'm thinking of getting a Class 2B bike.
