Dirty rear wheel problem

Hi every1! I am brand new in this forum, so i hope to learn more from all of you and get to know u all better as well...
I have this problem: Everytime I apply chain lube onto my chain, my rear wheel gets very dirty with grease and it is quite troublesome to get rid of; wat do you guys do to prevent this? If use chain wax accidentally spray onto tyre then got white stain... Thanks all for viewing this post! -
u cant realli prevent it,but u can try only to spray yr chainlube after u ride yr bike home while the chain is hot and leave it overnite dun spray too much on it.it works for me,as for get rid of the stain u can use engine oil 2t or engine degreaser to wipe it away juz pour some on a rag or cloth.Originally posted by S|0w^N^sT3Ady:Hi every1! if kana lube, use diesel or kerosene will do the tricks if else all fail, get a bolt and nut and remove your whole rear wheel then spray liao bolt back -
Just use a little WD40 n wipr the gunk off with a cloth.

hmm i've tried many ways including diesel, but the most effective way is....
Use petrol, a sponge.
After that use JIF, sponge.
That'll settle ur problem. The grease that flies on your rims, its bo bian one, unless u use chain wax rather than chain lube lor. -

the action of having your rims dirtied by chain lub is call 'fling' of the lub. a couple of ways to solve this problem.
1) get scott-oiler - a device that drips engine oil directly on your chain. flow can be controlled. do a search on the web for it.
2) use chain lubs that doesnt 'fling easily. one very very good example is Motorex. its available in MotorX which is opp BikeTech.
fyi, please be careful if you wanna use wd40 to clean the rims. WD40 will harden/spoil your chain so never lub your chain with it.
what i would do:
1) clean chain with diesel
2) clean rims with diesel
3) shampoo them
4) wash off the shampoo
5) dry chain and rims
6) spray on Motorex chain lub
mods: no advertising or hard feelings meant.
just my 2 cents worth -
get ur rims as dirty as it can loh, find 1 day go jb let the ppl there wash fer u @ onli rm8 nia... save the hassle too..

8rm at jb? why not consider S$5 at shell station opp. bukit merah central? tried it before and must say that its not bad.
must emphasis to them on the importance of washing your chain and rims though.
then just push to one side and wax.
beware though... i got mine wash by a young chinese chap (no racist here) and he scrapped off the chromp pain of my signal light.
