Your GF on the Road?

I've enrolled for lessons for Class 2B license. However, after reading about the high accident rates on this forum and gd luck wishes to not meet with an accident on the road, I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts. My bf disapproves of it coz he knows how idiotic some drivers can b, and also coz he's gotten into an accident before. What say you pple? Would you encourage ur gfs to go take a Class 2B license?

Hi, jus my 2cents worth okie.
Im a bike fanatic. luved bikes from the 1st day i laid my eyes on them. Took every class of licensce they offered and im still riding today.
Through these years of riding i got to know a brand new world. new frens. new places to discover. a whole new adventure. but nevertheless every coin has a 2nd side. Ive been in countless and seen many accidents, some of which were my frens and of which a number were not lucky enough to walk away alive...
I still remember getting a call at 2am in the morning telling me tt my fren had been in a bad accident and passed on. till this day, any late nite calls will bring shivers down my spine.
riding is a wonderful experience but filled with dangers and risks. there is no gaurentee that you will get into an accident but the chances are always lurking around the nxt corner.
my advice is to follow your dream. if you get your licensce, get a streetwise biker to show you the ropes and you should be fine. remember that the life you have is not your own. your life is intertwined with that of your family and frens if anything happens to you, it happens to them too. be resposible when you ride. -

But in the end of the day, the choice lies on her hands, as said, its her life and dreams.
But when one day she has her own bike, i'll make sure she rides with care and pass all whatever techniques i know to her, to help her along this exciting and SAFE journey. This is very important.
So in the end of the day, u choose where u wanna go. -
No gf. Skeujin says it all. But most bikers fall, its only how hard you fall. A cdc instructor told me. Take care, take the license first, to ride or not just leave it to later.

i won't.. as i rider myself, i know the dangers of riding a bike.. although it's selfish to ride myself and advise others not to ride.. but it's those that happen around me and myself tell me to not to encourage those around me.. i will gove up riding eventually.. but not at the moment..
people always say being careful and a responsible rider won't keep you safe.. but there are many irresponsible drivers out there.. you maybe once lucky.. you maybe twice.. you might be all the time.. but hey.. who knows what will happen?? everything have their own risk.. driving a car will also result in fatal accidents.. you might even die just being a pedestrian.. but the amount of risk invovle is different.. do think about that.. think about those around you.. just an advice for you.. -

You only live once. Some people live their lives in safety. That is a choice. Others choose to push the limits. That is also a choice.
You should live your life the way you want it; if you want to be concerned about family and stuff, then don't ride. If you want both, then ride, but ride slowly. Otherwise go and do your stuff (but of course, still riding safely, no matter what).
If the world lived their lives below 30kmh, there would be no Michael Schumacher, Valentino Rossi nor Lance Armstrongs.

Many has responded to your dilemna. No matter how many has advice, you still have to decide as some has mentioned. There are female bikers on the road and you might ask yourself "how come she can ride"... There is no doubt many disapproval of anyone riding bike. Some is for practicality and some is purely out of passion for riding...
I have same advice as some of them. You have to decide. We can't decide for you. Riding is dangerous. So, is driving, walking down the road and etc. But as a biker, you have to ensure safety to yourself and other motorist. It's true that you are riding safely but other motorist is reckless... Therefore, being acutely aware and alert when riding is crucial thing. There are many safety aspect on the road which can be shared when we meet.... I see many accident victims due to my nature of work in a hospital, but I'm still riding....
Decide wisely and don't regret on it...
