A decent crowd gathered to catch the animal versus machine duel.
And most of the money was on the 10-year old mare called Shelly, jockeyed by Sanaullah Khan, a Polo Club staff.
Their opponent, Andrew Travett, a former trials champ from the United Kingdom, riding a 400cc Suzuki scrambler.
Both horse and bike had to cover a distance of about half a kilometre, with each running or riding in opposite directions.
When the race started, the bike scrambled away, hitting speeds of 130 kilometres per hour - afterall, it had a 35 horsepower engine to propel it.
While the self-powered horse had a slow start and it tried to make up at the last stretch.
The horse took 27 seconds to complete the distance, 4 seconds slower than the bike. - CNA
