2dae when i was ridin i feel tat all of a sudden there seen 2 b sum draggin at e rear on my wheel?? Mmm... does anyone of u hv this pro b4?? Wat can e pro b?? May b it is not draggin on e wheel but all of e sudden i juz felt tat my rear got pro(like sumtin loose or wat) e feelin totally different liao!!! So can anyone help mi??

hmm.. ok try these easier to check steps first:
go check your tire pressure, see if it's your tires leaking. use the BP station's digital meter, easier to use.
after that, take a good look at the chain and sprockets, esp the chain. see if your chain has slackened, or if there're deformed links.
it's unlikely to be something that major. but if you have the chance to jack up the bike with a car jack, lemme know..

as 4 e tin u tokin about, yes there is loss of power like normally u open e throttle e will pick up at a speed rite but i open e throttle e bike juz gradually accelerate lor

huh? could you be in the wrong gear? okok sorry ah.. cos 2 stroke engines are very "peaky", power kicks in at higher rpms. if after checking the stuff i've said, and it's okay, but problems still remain, try bring your bike in for a carb clean. lots of throttle/response problems are carburettor linked.Originally posted by Ni+3KiDz:Ok thx!!

Mmm... no i d not change anytin lately n by e way i was in e right gear at tat time. hey go to the mech immediately... my friend super4 kana too and the problem likes with the wheels ball bearing... think u better go for checkup... be safe then sorry man

you can try this out for yourself. after you jack up the bike, with the rear wheel free in the air, roll it along, and see if it's rolling freely and smoothly. if your wheels can rotate, but not smoothly, as in like there're sounds at regular intervals, it's likely to be your bearings.
after that, check for lateral movement on the top and bottom of the wheel. with a friend holding onto the bike, grab the top (then later the bottom) of the bike, and see if it can move "sideways" or not. if it can, most likely your wheel bearings are gone. can be replaced.
but one important check would be that whether your brakes are sticking or not. this requires some confidence, and don't advise you do it if you don't have the tools. have a knowledgeable friend around. remove the brake calipers and housing, but leave the cable attached (that way you won't screw up the hydraulics system). leave your rear brake housing aside, ignore it first.
with your brake housing out of the way, repeat the check. if you find that this time round, the wheel rotates smoothly now, your brakes are sticking. could be due to seized brake pistons, or incorrect installation of the brake pads. leave this to the mech to repair already.
ok i'll repeat the steps:
jack up bike, check for free rotation.
if it doesn't rotate freely, mostly likely sticking brakes or worn bearings.
if "sticks" at intervals, most likely bearings.
then grab wheel top and bottom, and see if the wheel can be moved sideways. it nothing's wrong it cannot be moved sideways, if can, bearings are gone. if you find that at this point, the wheel doesn't rotate smoothly, and NO lateral movement, that means your wheel bearings are fine...
remove the brake calipers and housing. repeat the rolling test. if you find that the problems persist, and there's no "improvement" when the brakes are off, you can isolate the problem to the bearings. if you find that the problem is gone after you remove the brakes, most likely it's a brake problem as i mentioned above.
actually brake pistons and seals can be cleaned and replaced by ourselves. but without a proper bleeding kit, plus tools, i wouldn't recommend it. to be honest, i myself dunno how to do it also..
hope this helps lar.. just in case your mech ask you to change the whole rear end of the bike or overhaul or something... which is ridiculous...

N for ur info my bike is FP plate, sad 2 said after ridin it 4 near 2 a yr i still dun quite understand it :p
i dun relli care about it (lazy n dunno hw 2 take care) it has been 4-5 mth since last service

oh yah, just a suggestion... your bike been used for a while, do you find a lot of free play on the brake levers? or do they feel soggy and not as responsive? if it's soggy, the next time you go see a mech, as him to bleed the brake lines for you, that is, to change the brake fluid. because brake fluid attracts water overtime, and sometimes air gets in as well. water is denser than brake fluid and will collect at the bottom of your brakes, at the brake piston/seals there. when you're riding, and braking, the heat generated can cause the water to boil, which is called "vapour lock", which means there'll be complete loss of braking power.
try to bleed your brakes annually or 10,000km yah?? and brake fluid cheap cheap one.. so prob only pay for workmanship. check the main reservoir for what brake fluid to use, dot 3 or 4. most bikes if i'm not wrong use that.
wah don't say until like that.. paiseh one.. didn't help much lar, just sharing what people taught me.. then you must pass it on ya?

SBS... hmm.. maybe your mech gave you ceramic or sintered pads.. very good bite and braking power.. but can be a little harsh on the brake disc, esp the sintered ones. next time you're there, ask him. it's good to use an air-jet to blow out the brake pad material once in a while if you're using sintered..
