he actually did that? what a prick...Originally posted by zhenzhen_11:anyway i juz wanna share one similar incident..
i was travelling at TPE sending my gf home.. i was riding at abt 100kmh one the 1st lane(most right).. was doing fine until a very old, 'lao pok' Toyota Corolla come behind me and and started shineing high beam..
not to mention in front of me is a relatively new BMW.. then my instinct was of cos to keep safe following distance between me and BMW.. but then the Toyota keep tailgating me.. and keep on shineing his high beam upon me..
then at one scretch, the BMW accelerate and i too, follow him but still keeping my following distance..
but then, 'du lan' thing happen again.. the damn Toyota kept tailgating me and shineing his high beam.. and of coz i can see that clearly from my rear mirror.. and its super irritating.. i got 'du lan', i tap my rear brakes.. then speed up in front near the BMW.. then i jam brake.. hheeeehheee... then i hear 'screeeching' sound frombehind..what i think is the stupid Toyota jammed brakes to avoid hitting into me..
then later i change lane and speed up to exit to Yishun.. during the scretch b4 the traffic lights.. the Toyota speed up beside me and the driver showed me police warranty card..
i am a bit shocked when i saw it but then.. i was at no fault.. haha.. till now stillno any police letter related to this incident..
things to add:----
u will be always right if someone hit your butts.. but not while you change lanes of coz.. told by a lot of uncles.. some is taxi drivers.. believe them.. they live by living on roads..

it's not about safe following distance, but braking power.
4 brakes vs 2.
if you are on your bike, following a car at let's say.... 2 car lengths, suddenly he jams his brake, i believe you too will end up crashing into him.
so yes, you are wrong. the thing about the cat popping out is just suei.
As i said b4, i do not have tt killer instinct in me,btw it happened in a split second n braking is the only thing tt came across my mind at tt moment.Originally posted by gUms:eh i think raider is in de wrong , cos last time i when for car theory lesson , one person go ask , SIR IF Say one cat jump infront of ur car how?
Instruter reply : IF cat too near , YOu got to go over de cat , cos if u do a sudden braking , a vehical behind u dont have enuff reaction time , n will hit you , in dat case you are in wrong
But if de cat is far distance away u can slowly slow down to let cat pass ,
i think raider you in wrong ,
YOu ride bike rite ?
you must noe how good is a car n bike braking performance
Isn't keeping a safe following distance meant to counter unexpected sudden braking?Originally posted by nismoS132:the main point here to note is sudden braking. no warning was given at all the the s4.
that is where raider is "wrong".

No offence, but it cannot be implied to bike, when you dash the cat you will loose the bike control and confirm you will fall and get strike by driver behind u.Originally posted by Nsr150:Wat I heard is that when you that your car practical, the instructor should have told you that if you can avoid the cat without causing any accident you may do so if not then you will be the one at fault. They will rather have you killing the cat rather then causing any accident. That's what I heard when I'm taking my car practical.
why worry... he should be the 1 worrying.. not u.. he banged frm behind.. the 1 behind always at fault.. it's the rule.. u can actually claim frm him.. it doesn't matter whether u stop becos of a stopid cat or dog..he banged into u.. it's presumed his 'fault'. u a fool not to claim from him fer your car damages.. think he's tryin to get away wif it. heh.Originally posted by RAIDER:Was on my way to pick up something from my friend this morning, suddenly,a cat dashed across my path so i jammed the brakes immediately, unfortunately, this had not prevented me from running over the cat. What it did caused however is a collusion from a Super4 behind.I got down the car to check on the rider. Luckily the rider was not seriously hurt, only some scratches on his forearm. But the cat is dead. What a gruesome death!
The Super4 rider insisted tt it was my fault n demanded compensation from me($500)for repairs on his bike n medical bills but i refused saying tt i had no choice as a cat had came into my path. Further more, he was not folllowing a safety distance.Seeing no further conclusion from this argument, we exchanged personal particulars/licence plates n left.B4 he left,He said tt he's going to sue my pants off for this but i had not heard from him till now.
What should i do? Should i make a police report or just report to my insurance coy? Asked a few friends n they said its his fault as he had not followed the safety distance rule,n i could claim the damages on my car from him. Need views from u guys. Thanx!
P.S izzit against the law to run over a cat n leaving the scene wifout reporting?
