basically to slowly warm up the oil inside ure engine and oso allows ure pistons and cylinders to expand slowly and evenly if you're having a four stroke engine.Originally posted by kopiosatu:Because someone told me to do that...
theoratically, i still don't know why i warm up the bike.
Correct, it's applicable for both types of engine. Another difference is 2 stroke engine warms up faster than 4 stroke engine. From what I read, warming up is more important on older engines, because nowadays engines are manufactured with higher precision. So they have less chance of expanding un-uniformly.Originally posted by No_regret:Isnt the same theory goes to 2-stroke just that without the oil part. The piston and block might expand un-uniformly if nv warm up.
But again, diff ppl believes in different theory. In any case, better move off slowly, keeping engine speed low for some time first.
agree wif u. i dun even run in for my engine whenever i change a new block and piston too lolOriginally posted by No_regret:Isnt the same theory goes to 2-stroke just that without the oil part. The piston and block might expand un-uniformly if nv warm up.
