got this to console myself... -
building status of my MG Destiny.
finished the head, hands and shield.

the sprue gates of chrome parts tend to have the same problem of chipping off.

yes the chrome layer where u cut off the part from the runner will wear off.
what i can suggest to bandai is that for future release with chrome parts, they can strategically hide the thingy holding the parts to the runner at the back so that it can be concealed after cutting. -

i think bandai actually does something like this for most chrome sets, at least in the case of 1/100 akatsuki and SF full burst...only the hands have this problem.....Originally posted by Gordonator:yes. that is what i mean by strategically hiding. -
actually if you notice, they only did that to those special edition sets like destiny extreme blast, hguc zeta chrome. but sadly MG Destiny extreme blast mode, it does not has this same layout as strike freedom full burst mode. -

if u look at this pic, the left one is strike freedom full burst mode in which the gates are hidden behind the part as compared to the normal edition on the right.
sadly MG Destiny Full Blast Mode doesn't have this.

i think bandai should just design all the gates to be hidden behind the parts regarless of chrome or not for all gunpla. make life easier for us.

my personal thoughts on MG Destiny.
i would say this got to be the MG released by Bandai so far. i see that they really made effort to improve their MG. the new shoulder joints are very flexible. very good for posing.
this is also the first MG i see to have left and right feet. i don't know whether other MGs have this but most of my kits, both the feet are identical.
the stand is also redesigned. instead of holding the gunpla at it's torso, it hold it's backpack. nice touch as now the stand will not hinder the posing of the legs. we can also easily remove the gunpla from the stand without using much force. (but note that the catch can be easily broken if u move the gunpla too much with too much force)
so basically, i would strongly recommend MG Destiny. it's cool.

oh and if u are undecided whether to buy the special edition or the normal edition, here are some of the differences between the 2 other than wings of light and chrome parts.
special editon comes with golden decals which i think are very nice.
special edition's internal skeleton is light grey colour as compared to normal editon's drak grey colour as in most MG kits. the light grey skeleton is the only thing i don't like about this special edition. it looks too plastic. -
