  Hi guys,
  
  My first post in this forum. Please allow me to show my humble collections, my recently completed Master Gundam, Normal and Hyper Mode,
  I don't do painting for my kits, as i find the completed kits good enough, so never bother to find time learning, even though a painted kit is definitely much better, haha..

  Anyway this is my progress on Dendrobium
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Took me whole day and for day 1, this is what I have so far:
  
  
  
  
  
  This is just the lower body part finished, left with the big shoulder packs, booster, the 4 main "Hand" weapons and of course, GP03 itself This thing is pretty heavy since there are 3 metals inside to make it stable. Some of the parts are also have some weight in it. My guess it could reach atleast 2 kg once it's finished. Need some painting and colouring also, especially the rocket booster.
  
  Looks like I can finish this earlier than expected, between 3-5 days. Oh and that's my SF Lightening Edition

  wat do u all use to paint anywaes?
  
  markers?
  
  or model paints?
  
  i do WW2 models like Spitfires and lightnings and use model paint...
  
  how does the gundam hobby do its figures anywaes?

  I use Gundam special markers for now. For assembling there isnt much different from other plane and car kits. You need sanding and colouring and stuffs. The only difference probably just the need of cement and glue. Gundam kits doesn't need gluing, but there are some that needs wiring and screwing bolts

  i mean..i dunno uh...
  
  in airplane modelling..it depends on the detail of the sprues..sometimes paint the major parts like cockpits and all with paint..then assemble..
  
  in terms of gundam u just use the marker issit?how much does a set of markers cost?

  I use markers since I'm not really what you called "Pro". Professionals use airbrushes for better colouring and details, and paints also.
  
  Gundam markers, example for panel lines uses is $5-$6 each. As for Gundam Marker sets, I don't think I've seen one selling here in sg before, but I ordered mine online for 1200 yen each set (5-6 markers). I have 3 sets of markers, so 16 markers total + 1 for panel lines

  The 1/144 Dendrobium is 1 big kit. Not just the length, but the width as well...it's like..wowww...where to place this kit if i built it..
  
  I bought this item like more than 3 years ago, and now still in my storeroom collecting dust, no time and space to build also. Cannot resist to temptation because it is only $350, initial release with the DVD, hahaha...

  was kinda surprised to see waverider75 with his G gundam kits as the G Gundam series is less popular.

  Yeah I was expecting it to take longer, but some of the parts are really big, and looks like it has less compared to PG.

  regarding whether markers are sufficient to make the kit look real, i can't give u an answer. it depends on the techniques on controling the panels, marker painted parts, etc. u can see some hobby mags doing wonders with markers. but generally, plamodellers will prefer airbrushing and enamel paneling when they have a budget for airbrushing.
  
  im jus a casual collector, and due to personal reasons, i can't pick up airbrushing. it really depends on how u want ur kit to be. dont really have to do "full set" to make the kit look really nice. like me, i only sand away whole greasy surfaces of parts, clear sprue gates, panel and decal them, and im happy with it. ultimately, if u have the time and patience, be sure to try it.

  @wcloudx: marker sets quite seldom seen in singapore. but hobby point has them sometimes. at least $22 per set. and ultra fine panel markers, can get at $3.90 la..

  G Gundam series is actually 1 of the best story though the 1st half is kinda cheesy.

  haha...i am a avid fan of gundam series..followed through all the available series..even the most unpopular Turn-A (i guess)..
  
  I have already collected quite a number of kits...will slowly post up my humble collection if you guys do not mind...
