During summer nights, thereÂ’s nothing worse than a swarm of mosquitoes. But, now those lousy days are coming to an end because hi-tech cell phones can help users repel mosquitoes.
SK Telecom, KoreaÂ’s top mobile operator, said it will introduce the extraordinary downloadable content service starting July 14.
The service, which costs 3,000 won per download, generates anti-mosquito sound waves to control mosquitoes within a range of one meter.
Customers can wirelessly download the content from the companyÂ’s website.
The mosquito repelling service uses a particular spectrum of sound waves, which are undetectable by human ears. But the frequencies annoy mosquitoes, SK Telecom said.
A disadvantage is that the service takes up more battery power, but customers can effectively use the service with rechargeable equipment.
