Rita writes, "This Salton Sea Spirit Photo was taken in April 1962, my late husband Bill, my parents and I were invited to the Salton Sea Yacht Club. We were on a yacht and I was taking photos with my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye using 620 b/w film. This was photo 15. I was taking a photo of the Captain's boat and sea planes, when what appears to be a spirit trying to form and racing upward at a great speed out of the water. The weather was warm and the sea was quiet. My father was a B-17 pilot in W.W.II, and he told me many pilots training in this area during the War crashed into the sea, never to be found. There has been many private planes, boats and swimmers that have been lost in this prehistoric sea. All the other photos were normal."
Fascinating photo!
