Any GOD anwser to your prayer is your GOD. The point is how the group tatcis to bring in more follwer is the point of discussion. Some go to the extreme to brianwash the kids, other make it a rules to follow and cannot retreat. Just check yourself which group have more freedom for everyone to follow. This is a free world, good or bad is depend on yourself understanding. Dont become a extreme to spolit your group.

what do you think?
Wat i think? Hmm
It's more like words being used to explain stuff..
Ok, u state the example of kid not to steal and using a thief who was caught as an illustration. Let's put this into a real life scenerio with the thief in front face to face with the person using him as an example. How will the thief? Of cos he will feel offended yeah stealing is wrong but if we were to go more in-depth wat cause him to steal?
Greed?
Boring, trying to find excitement in life?
or
He steal cos he got kids, wife and parents to fed and he went into the extreme measure such as stealing?
And if this were to be brought to court and i am pretty sure the judge will sentence him according to wat reasons he have.
So from wat i feel, one should go and try to understand wat happen or bad experience the other have and things might turn out better.

Hope you forgive the limitations of the online forum, being not able to express my sincerest apologies to you if anyone of the Christians here have offended you in anyways...
But I guess, it is good if we can have constructive discussions about the bible or doctrinal issues here since its a (so-call again) Christian Forum
You interested in the Gospel? Can I share my faith with you then?
lol, now we'll get to see whether being nice in her context is of any use. =)
I hav a friend who study all religion full time that to the age of 70, he turns the word GOD reverse. I will invite him into the discussion.

but the fact that he gets arrested in the first place says alot. that stealing is wrong, regardless of the reason.
so the point still comes down to, is the person illustrating wrong, or the one who stole who was wrong.

Yes this is a free world... Christians are known to go out there and (in your context) bring in more followers. But we do that out of love for the world, and out of our own believes that becoming a Christian is the only way to be saved.
Now, dun get sore at me or anything, but it is just the way of a Christian. =)
Followers of Christ indeed do not have much choices... This is something that I want to make clear. It is not a choice for us as Christians whether to love or not, IT IS A COMMAND!
And to follow Christ, it is going to be tough... No butterflies garden, no bed of roses, but persecutions and trials...
The question is whether we are strong and determined enough to be a Christian to receive that promised salvation... =)

well, all i did was just share something general. i really don't know what got everyone so worked up. lol.
my point was - people believe only when they want to believe, not because of facts or evidences or logic or goodness.

I am not against christians preaching gospel as they are commanded to do so. depends on how one does it. Preaching gospel with love of god is good, preaching gospel without love of god .... . . ummm

Okay, if you're open to it, we'll meet up for some discussions shall we? =)
Firstly, let's just put my purpose of sharing faith clear... Its to spread the gospel out of love... So how about we meet up and chit-chat.. Then we see how we can know more about where we are coming from? =)

hope u are not pressured into asking this question.
ha ha ha ha.

Yeah, getting arrested is a "of cos" regardless of reasons. Is when things are brought to court or questioning, things are better understand.
Stealing is never right and when i said the judge will give the sentence according to the reason the thief have, is either a ligther sentence or something else. No one escape from the hand of law that is.
If i got a friend who just steal for the thrills and excitement, hell i will condem him but if he steal with a vaild reason, i will just tell him stealing is wrong and u still need to get the punishment and no, i will not encourage him to steal.. Then all in all i will start to see wat help i can offer.
Like wat i said earlier, i believe things happen for a reason so why not go and understand wat caused the negative comment or action.
If one is to to explain to the other of something, its better to know wat caused the other to be this way and understand it.

I have christians friends whom I will meet up and talk about it. If necessary, i will meet some pastors whom i know. Hope this is not offensive to you.
I know i have been "crucified" by someone here. It is really unchristianlike. Instead of reacting in love of God that someone is reacting, attacking in his flesh.

In Christian context, stealing is wrong regardless the reasons...
It is the society that makes it a forgiveable or unforgiveable issue. =)
In old testament, the commandments states: " You shall NOT steal" (Exodus 20:15), nowhere in the commandents states that "you shall TRY NOT to steal unless you have a valid reason to"
There are actually so many alternatives to bring food to the family if one looks hard enough... I mean, I've been through that moments too... =)

Then if you have met Christian friends, to talk about things, I'm sure another invitation with a pure intention should not be turned down by you should it? =)
Don't worry about crucifications by others... For it is every Christians' lives that they are crucified with the cross too...
So if you are crucified for whatever reasons, then I think you can enter the kingdom too =)

U never know wat a man can do when one is at the dead end. Like wat u mention, there's many ways but how many is actually feastible for someone who is at his dead end? U are not the person and not everyone understand the urgency that person might have at the moment so why not try to understand ?

Err, i am not using any Christian context right there. =\
I am pretty sure the judge give sentence according to facts and evidence.
