The 2 trolls here are not interested in knowing and applying the bible. Their shared motivate is to "kill" all non christians here.Did you read in BUddhism thread how the troll googoomuck makes a fool of himself there by creating trouble. He is so odd in that forumer for being the only troublemaker there. One nice buddhist was kind to tactfully discourage him to troublemaking, he never gives up goes on post and post.

correct bo ..or else do they get the money to buy suntech city. stay in luxury beautiful house and setting up business to make more money. no tithe hor meaning you are not memeber and people over there treat you coolly and alienated you. even in NCC.

I dunno why is there a need to donate one's monthly salary of 10% to tithes for? how about donating 10% of your monthly income to charity instead?

the 10% is in bible law from Moses era. Levites are the chosen clan to serve God and the 10% is meant for church use and Levites eat some of the food given by the believers.For me, I'm okay with churches except those that preach the money law of attraction. Been to some. They say testimonies like... A is in desperate need of cash, A gave 10% and in the end he got 200%!!! rubbish. Church is not supposed to be like that from the beginning. Bible is not bad, the bad things are churches that twist and turn and becomes wtf

Personally what I feel is how much percentage is really up to the individual. Afterall it is between him and God. To add though, you are not supposed to let others know how much is it you gave. As much as possible to keep the actual amount to yourself.
The reason for tithes is money for the church to function, to run and to finance the church activities. Paying for things like logistics, equipment where necessary, and in some cases rental of worship place.

I would say the 10% can be a guide, but in the new testament it mentions when you give you should keep secret the amount you gave.
The part you mention about getting back 200% is part of the concept of prosperity gospel. Generally a lot of churches do not adopt the doctrine of concept of prosperity gospel, however, the validity of prosperity gospel itself is a theological debate even among Christians.

I agree there are churches that does not preach that. As mentioned in the previous post

Been to two megachurches and heard them preached about that. Disappointed to the max.
