  Good thursday mornin' to all.
  
  Been busy bee this whole time since yesterday, production system upgrade and data migration, tis like defusing VX bombs..
  and to make things worse, my cable modem commited harakiri yesterday and almost electrocuted me in the process.
  
  Hope yall having it fine, am taking a lil breather now..

  uhh.. just how much juice is going through your cable modem?
  
  oh, just asking you tech-heads... colleague bought a notebook coz he's going to UK for studies... comes with a wi-fi thing... he has no internet connection whatsoever..
  
  last night, fiddling with his notebook, he switches on the wi-fi thing.. and he gets a connection... free broadband use until he goes to sleep at 1...
  
  what gives?

  migration and upgrades are always a headache.. u can't be over-prepared for these things..
  
  my house was choke with smoke last night with all the burning of incense below my block.. and i stay on the second floor.. could see the living room was filled with smoke.. i think it's equivalent to smoking 4 packs in one go.. haha..
  
  so went out to take a walk at night and saw Mars in the sky.. little red dot.. too bad, don't have a telescope..

  cool... probably his neighbour has a wireless router and forgotten to put in filters.. u can restrict access by allowing only listed MAC addresses.. at least, i think that's how it is..

  uh.. i unno, always had it's dedicated plug till nintendo 64 made a comeback wasn't too pleased with the swapping i suppose.
  
  anyway i spent ard 15 minutes holdin the line for starhub customer support at close to about 1am.. to a rather friendly voice, i'll get a free replacement in about 5 days time, till then i'm offline.. good heavens!

  He can make a profit if he wants to. In the past I have heard of ppl get orders from classmates, made the trip back to singapore, buy the laptops and fly back to UK. All in one weekend and if u get enuff orders, u have a tidy profit on top of a free ticket.

  colleague telling us the trauma of watching Finding Nemo and Shrek with his baby daughter...
  
  in Nemo, the mother fish was killed... so daughter kept asking: where mama fish? where mama fish? and was pretty traumatised
  
  in Shrek, princess did not want to go down the mountain so Shrek carried her away... so daughter kept saying: dowan monster carry... dowan monster carry... then that night, had nightmare, saying: dowan monster carry....
  
  so he's run out of things to let his daughter watch... stuck with crap like Hi-5
